This museum offers an opportunity to learn about money and enjoy the art gallery. There are nice photo spots too. You have to provide some personal information online to be able to explore the museum, the entrance is free of charge, the facilities are well maintained and clean. Since you can’t bring bags in, make sure that you have some cash to leave as a deposit for a locker for your bags(the deposit is fully refundable). We enjoyed our visit and can recommend as a good escape from the heat/rain before or after exploring the park.

Good experience and well maintained museum with many floors to visit. Needs at least 2-3 hours to visit all. I took a KTM here and walked around 8-10 mins to reach, just follow the pathway up easily 6000 steps here

Why did no one tell me about this sleek, smart-looking specialist museum tucked into the forested foothills of Taman Tugu? With ultra-modern facilities that feel truly world-class, it deserves to be shouted about—especially since entry is completely free for both locals and foreigners. Inside, a meticulously curated journey traces the origins of Malaysian currency, stretching back to the Malaccan Sultanate and even earlier. Beyond the rich numismatic history, the museum also features rotating exhibitions of art and culture, as well as a permanent gallery showcasing the National Bank of Malaysia’s art collection. The bilingual exhibit narratives are beautifully written—engaging, informative, and a genuine pleasure to read. Add to that the spacious, climate-controlled interiors, and you’ve got a surprisingly delightful, eye-opening experience. A hidden gem well worth discovering.

Visited on 1st June 2025, free entry with free parking for weekends and public holidays. Here, you are going to learn the history of currencies, international currency notes, old notes back during British Malaya, Straits Settlements, Japanese Occupation. Quite interesting. The downside is, noise. When you visit during weekends or school holidays, please take note that the noise is quite loud. Can't focus on reading it. I can say interesting at the same time its boring.

I think this is an ideal place to visit for everyone especially families with kids. With vast variety of informative exhibitions and some interesting activities for the visitors to engage, scenic hotspots for photo taking as well. Best still, it's free of charge to enter and without time limitations to visit. Highly recommended!
