Wow.  The memories from that day came flooding back.  Tears welled up.  I really can't put my emotions into words so I won't.  I would screw it up.  I'm glad I went.  My son and I then discussed the entire events leading up to 9/11 and then what followed.  One item to note. The museum was/is closed on Tuesdays- bummer.

All these years later it still makes you angry when you think about what occurred and how all these poor people lost their lives and how many families were ruined that day.

Having said that it’s a very well-done memorial with the pools from the building’s footprints and the names around the perimeter of the pools.  Also nice they included the victims of Flight 93 and the Pentagon even though they didn’t perish here.

Those towers were the greatest part of the greatest skyline and I miss seeing them.  Wish they’d have put them back up as was to make a point to the rest of the world but understand why they didn’t.

Visiting the North and South memorials is a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is quiet and respectful. We visited while the South pool was drained for maintenance, yet the area is clean and well maintained. There are some areas to sit in the shade, as well as local volunteers willing to discuss the site. Visiting the 9/11 pools is a free experience, but the museum is worth buying tickets in advance.

What an amazing yet somber experience. I remember it well, I am a lifetime NY'er and Long Islander. This is an amazing tribute to the once amazing location. We all remember where we were that day.
