2. Ride around Kuala Lumpur on a Vespa

Sure, you’ve been on the Hop On Hop Off bus, but nothing beats riding a Vespa around the city. The little Vespa can take you down the narrow streets and even to the local markets where you can explore some street food! This activity is more suitable for older kids though but one that they would cherish.

3. Stroll along the Saloma Bridge

The Saloma Bridge is a 69 metres combined pedestrian and bicyclist bridge across the Klang River, connecting KLCC and Kampung Baru. We highly recommend going in the evening as the beautiful LED lights that lit up the whole bridge makes an unforgettable experience. The kids would be dazzled by the colourful lights and be sure to snap a few family photos while you’re there! Address: Saloma, Between and Lorong, Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3, Kampung Baru, 50300 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur

4. See the sunrise at the Changkat Tunku Lookout Point

An underrated sunrise spot, the Changkat Tunku Lookout Point is where you can get an uninterrupted view of the Kuala Lumpur city skyline. Bring the kids (and a camera!) along for a morning walk and capture the beautiful view.

5. Find hidden treasures at the ZhongShan Building

The repurposed old building of ZhongShan has been converted into an art and cafe space for the community. Your kids would enjoy hopping from one shop to another as there are coffee shops, a bakery, indie bookstores as well as eccentric stores selling art supplies, whimsical stationery and beautifully-made cards. There are hidden “treasures” waiting to be discovered!

There are only so many playgrounds that your kids can go to. Why not try something different by visiting Kebun Kebun Bangsar where you can pet free-range animals such as chickens, sheep, cows and even a turkey! The urban garden grows just about everything — from bok choy and chilli padi, to fennel and papayas. These crops are then donated to soup kitchens to help the underprivileged in the city. The garden is also run by volunteers and donations from visitors, so while the garden is free to enter, consider donating to help keep them running.
