2. Support Malaysian filmmakers with BMW Shorties 2022

The BMW Shorties is the country’s most prestigious and longest-running short film and digital content competition. From now until 18 September, Astro GO will be showcasing the works of 30 local independent filmmakers and digital content creators throughout the Merdeka and Hari Malaysia celebrations. In addition to this celebratory showcase, BMW Shorties will also be making a comeback this year with the theme of Re: Imagine where filmmakers from all over the country can have the chance to unleash their creative potential and win the grand prize to fund their short film. 5. Reminisce the COVID-19 pandemic at Ilham Gallery’s Projek 555 exhibition

The two years of the COVID-19 pandemic have changed a lot of lives and while no one wants to relive it, it is quite a significant event in our lives. To look back at the past two years, visit the Projek 555, a collection of everyday observations and reflections in the form of a mini visual diary. At the end of 2020, and again in 2021, Malaysia Design Archive issued an open invitation where for a month, anyone who wanted to participate would receive a 555 notebook by mail to journal whatever they liked, however way they chose to. The idea was to create a space for pause, contemplation and connection through distance. Now, you can read the journals at Ilham Gallery. The project is in collaboration with Malaysia Design Archive. 6. Visit the Tapirama Art Exhibition 2022

These art exhibitions are part of Kelab Belia Prihatin Malaysia’s national environmental awareness campaign which is called We Be Leaf Together. The Tapirama Art Exhibition 2022 were curated with a focus on endangered native animal species such as tapir and tenggiling as well as promoting the rich biodiversity that we have in Malaysia. The event will showcase klpac’s in-house artists Nor Azmi Mokhtar and Ida Sri Sulo where they had done several events and showcases before. The fund from the art sale will go to klpac’s green campaign activity all around Malaysia.
