This story about The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi is written by one of our contributors, Sabrina. Some parts of the article may have been edited for length and clarity.

I went to Langkawi on 24th July until 26th July 2020 to celebrate my 10th year wedding anniversary with my husband and my 3 boys (yup, had to drag the kids along haha..).

It was a last-minute plan, we actually decided to go to Langkawi 3 days before the actual trip. We bought the flight tickets and booked our stay right after we agreed to go.

We chose Langkawi because we wanted somewhere quiet and serene, and Ritz-Carlton Langkawi was the perfect resort for it.

Ritz-Carlton Langkawi gives you the best of both worlds; you have the beach nearby and the resort is surrounded by greens. You can hear the crickets chirping as soon as you walk into the resort. The resort is only 15 minutes away from the airport.

They have 2 types of accommodation; Rooms and Villas. The villas come with a private pool.

For my stay, we had the Rainforest Junior Suite Room. We actually wanted to go for the villas, unfortunately, it was already fully booked. The prices start from RM1,100/night and currently, the resort is having the Experience-Kids Eat Free promo.

Our suite was around 1,000 sq ft, surrounded by trees. When we arrived, our room was nicely decorated to welcome our anniversary stay.

The resort was kind enough to provide some candies for the kids. Going out the balcony, I can hear the waves. It was very calming. We asked for a baby cot for my 1.5-year-old baby and it was already there when we arrived.

One thing the staff mentioned to us is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. There are monkeys in the area and if you leave the doors and windows open, the monkeys are smart enough to attack the minibar and the snacks.

Since we brought the kids with us, it was a relief to know that Ritz-Carlton Langkawi has a club for kids, Ritz Kids.

For kids 4 years and above, they can be left at the club, play with the toys and do different activities. There is a schedule for the kids' activities that can be found in your room. There is also a kids swimming pool near the kids club.

The resort has 3 swimming pools; public swimming pool, adult-only swimming pool and kids swimming pool.

We went to the public swimming pool and the kids swimming pool during our stay. Both pools had an amazing view. Because we had kids with us, we didn’t get to experience the adult-only swimming pool.

Dining at the hotel

Our stay was a short one, so most of the time we stayed in the resort.

If you plan to go out, I recommend you to check out Pantai Kok. It’s about 8 minutes drive from the resort and the scenery was breathtaking. Overall, it was a short and sweet trip. Definitely coming back here!
