This story about The Kabin in Jeram near Pantai Remis and Kuala Selangor is written by one of our contributors, Shazana. Some parts of the article may have been edited for length and clarity.

We went to The Kabin, Jeram for a weekend getaway with friends. It was a bachelorette party to be exact.

We went in a party of six. We wanted the party to be a private event, far from crowds and people.

Brides-to-be at Pantai Remis

We decided for it to be at The Kabin to experience an exciting stay in a container in a quiet area away from the town. Plus, it was near the beach, Pantai Remis.

There were many containers to choose from depending on the number of your party. For a party of six, there are four options that you can select from: Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp and Felix. The price range for six sleepers is around RM 365 to RM 320 per night. But, if you come in a party of four or less, you can get a cabin for a price below RM 300. The price range differs depending on the location of the cabin.

We stayed at Hamburg, a cabin tucked away at the end of the premise which we couldn’t be more satisfied with. The cabin consisted of two different sized containers connected to each other to form one long container. A square container can sleep two while a longer container consists of two sets of bunk beds. Bathrooms are located at the end of each container.

Food set up outside our cabin

Upon our arrival at the cabin, we were greeted by an open reception area which the upper floor was constructed with containers. The upper floor was equipped with a hall and a lounge for hanging out. Next to the reception is a multipurpose court where we saw a couple of kids shooting hoops. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, she quickly checked us in and a staff led us to our cabin.

The cabin is surrounded by greeneries. There are hammocks under a huge tree which is perfect to lounge in on breezy evenings. There are also several grilling pits, so you can also enjoy a barbeque session with your friends and family.

The most attractive spot in The Kabin has to be its swimming pool. What makes it attractive is, it’s such a great spot for a photo!  The long stretch of blue pool against a backdrop of greeneries and black cabins produce vibrant photos! During our stay, a company retreat was happening at the same time. They were fully utilizing the swimming pool with water activities.

Halal food near The Kabin

Since The Kabin is located in a secluded area, there are not many eateries available. Fret not, The Kabin has its own café that opens from morning until late at night. At night, we are spoiled for choice with Ikan Bakar (Grilled Fish and Seafood) Restaurant at Medan Selera Pantai Remis.

Located only 3 kilometers from The Kabin, we chose to go to Aroma Ikan Bakar for dinner. Our dinner was under RM 150 for six people. It gets a little crowded later in the evening, the restaurant operates as early as 5 pm, so come early if you want to avoid a long waiting line! You can also reserve a table and have the restaurant prepare your menu in advance if you prefer! Don’t worry, there’s a surau on the premise so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about where to pray!

Overall, The Kabin is great for a quiet weekend getaway, to break away from your bustling work routine. Without a doubt, we were glad we decided to hold the bachelorette party at The Kabin and leave the place with fond memories of our bachelorette friends!
