When we thought there won't be many halal food establishments popping up anytime soon in Punggol, thankfully, we got the BEST NEWS EVER this week when Tenderfresh announced the opening of their third modern-day cafe, Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop at Punggol. What added to the excitement was that it is in collaboration with Cat & the Fiddle Cheesecake! HURRAH Punggolians!

Being an overly-excited kiasu Punggolian, I made sure to free up some time on it's Opening Day to be one of the early birdies to try out their newly launched Brunch Menu.

Brunch is only available on Weekends & PH from 8:30am to 2:30pm, and, it is only available at this Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop outlet located at 60 Punggol East. Time to make plans for your Weekend Brunch Dates!!
We sure were a lucky and well-fed bunch today to get treated to 6 of its 12 Weekend Brunch Menu and one of it includes a local favourite of a Hearty Bowl of Brekkie Laksa with Fresh Cockles, Prawns & Lava Egg! I am a huge LAKSA Fan and this Brekkie Laksa didn’t disappoint me at all, especially with its fresh cockles and spicy sambal chilli!! Super Oooomph!!! – Can I also say that it certainly ‘Warms the Cockles of my Heart’!! ?
Usually to have such a fancy ‘atas’ Western brunch, we will need to travel out of Punggol or during our buffet brekkie on staycations.
Besides the close proximity to home, one of the most EGG-citing factor for me, is their Western Brunch Menu with those perfect looking Sunny-Side Up Eggs, and Poached Eggs & Omelette (I can hardly cook them looking that good & well-intact!)
We were very impressed with the overall quality ingredients and taste of their Brunch Menu which we had the Big Brekkie, Croque Madame, Smoked Salmon & Eggs Benedict, Egg Omelet and Smoked Salmon Pancake. Phew!
The Winner for Us is…. a Tie of Croque Madame and Big Brekkie! I had greatly underestimated Croque Madame as I thought it is just a plain toast sandwich with ham and cheese, but I was so wrong.
They were all very luxe and it was a scrumptious meal. I had it with the coffee drinks and I know that I will be back for more and more!!
Ala carte menu at Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop Punggol
Their Ala-carte Menu which is available daily from 11am to 11pm is quite extensive (23 pages!!).
We were recommended to try their Chicken Meatballs with Potato Salad (YUM!) and their Desserts of Sizzling Caramelized Pisang Goreng with Ice Cream and Fried Chicken Ice Cream. Yes, you read me right!
It is FRIED CHICKEN Ice Cream and to be more specific, it is Vanilla Ice Cream with Homemade Caramel Sauce with Chicken Stock & served with Crispy Chicken Skin.
Eeeewww, you say??? Wait till you try it and it goes from Eeeewww to Ooooooh….. Take my word for it ok!! ?
Avid Cyclists who frequent Punggol Waterway Park can now have their post-cycling Lepak Session at Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop. They can conveniently and safely park their Bikes at the available Bike Racks.
Diners can also choose to sit in their aesthetically pleasing indoors with lots of greenery or the non-smoking alfresco outdoor seating.
We were happy to see the really good amount of seats. The restroom, indoor and outdoor wash basins are a great plus too!
Musollah at Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop Punggol
Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop @ 60 Punggol East goes the extra mile for their Muslim friends & diners by setting up a beautiful decorated Musollah which opens daily from 1pm to 9pm. The Musollah even has its own Ablution Area and Azan Clock. Do note that only 1 pax at any time is allowed in the Musollah and do bring your own Prayer Items. Don’t forget to do a Safe Entry Check-in and Check-out too.
One of the upcoming highlights of this Tuckshop here is their Drive Thru Pick Up which will be launched by mid-September 2021. Drivers take note: Orders can be made from their online ordering system and you will be notified to pick up your food only when it is ready.
