This Muslim-owned Indonesian restaurant is sticking to its Lombok roots and bringing you a fusion of Western and Asian flavours this December. One dish that blends Western-style presentation with local flavours is the Boston Lobster Sambal Rica-Rica ($43). Each dish comes with 2 lobsters (between 450-600g) so it’s just nice for sharing with the seafood lover in your life! ? Taliwang boils each lobster for 4 minutes before dunking it into an ice bath to keep every bite of the meat fresh and juicy. Upon ordering it gets thrown straight onto the griller to give it a nice, smoky crust! Sambal Rica-Rica is a regional speciality of Manado in North Sulawesi, with notes of lemongrass, green lime, and palm sugar. The spicy and zesty flavours of the sambal complement the lobster, bringing out the sweet and creamy taste of the meat. ?

For something with a stronger local flavour, give the Sambal Petai Tiger Prawns ($22) a try! It’s Taliwang’s own take on a local favourite, and is good as both an appetizer or main dish. What makes their version stand out is definitely the prawns. Taliwang has their own dedicated seafood supplier who runs their own farm - so the Tiger Prawns are the freshest you’ll ever get! ? We can already imagine how sweet and juicy each and every prawn must be.

If you prefer meat to seafood, the Premium Marbled Sirloin ($29) should be next on your must-try list. Taliwang’s sirloin steak (200g) comes from New Zealand and has Premium Marbling for a balanced yet juicy fatty flavour throughout. In fact they pride themselves on the freshness and taste of the meat so much that there’s minimal marination on the meat - the amazing flavour is enough to speak for itself! ? Served with a side of homemade mashed potatoes, sauteed vegetables, and fresh rosemary brown sauce, this is truly an unforgettable dish.

Another dish that Taliwang has added their unique spin to is the Grilled Lamb Shank ($32). Nowadays lots of halal eateries have lamb shank on the menu, but Taliwang’s version is a must-try for those who love a smoky, even char that really brings out the freshness of the meat. ? The meat is marinated in Indonesian-style spices before being cooked in low heat for a long duration of time. This makes the meat soft, tender, and able to melt in your mouth with every bite! The freshly-made Golek sauce served on the side has a sweet and nutty flavour that makes the smokiness of the meat even more mouth-watering.

Of course, don’t forget to end your meal with some Waffle Ice Cream ($12). Their waffles are crispy on the outside, with a chewy, buttery sweetness on the inside. ? The dish is served with 2 scoops of Belgian Chocolate and Mixed Berries ice cream and topped with fresh berries, creating a ‘Black Forest’-like taste.
