Thinking of travelling to Taiwan? In a recent attempt to get more foreign tourists to head to Taiwan, the tourism board of Taiwan is giving out digital cards that tourists can use when staying in Taiwan! You can look forward to awesome traveller perks, like a digital card stored with NT $ 5,000 ($218).

Starting at noon on May 1, 500,000 foreign travellers who enter Taiwan at any of the 4 participating airports will receive vouchers or cards through a random drawing procedure.

The 4 participating airports are

  • Taipei Songshan Airport
  • Taoyuan International Airport
  • Taichung International Airport
  • Kaohsiung International Airport

How to participate?

You would have to pre-register at least one day before arriving at the airport. You will then get a QR code after you register on the website.

What happens if you win it?

In the event that you win the prize (congrats!), you will receive either a voucher to offset some of their accommodation costs or a digital card, both of which will be valued at NT$5,000. You can use this for public transport, shopping and dining expenses.

#HHWT Tip: Note that the participating outlets are listed on their website along with other terms and conditions.

There will be more information released! Here is the Facebook post for the detailed steps.
