With more and more people travelling again, airline tickets have gotten more expensive, sometimes even taking up half of our travelling budget. Starlux is a new contender for the budget airline space and we'll be going through what you need to know for Starlux!

They also offer multi-city flights, allowing you to choose a different city to fly to, and from.
Planes
There are 3 types of planes in Starlux's fleet: A321neo, A330neo and A350-900.
The A321neo and the A330neo are smaller planes with only Business and Economy classes available for booking. Although smaller, they do not compromise on the interior details of the plane which still gives a comfortable and cozy feeling.
The A450-900 are larger planes that have: First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy. These planes are usually used for long-haul flights such as flights heading towards North America!
Flight prices
Flight ticket prices vary from location and time of purchase, as per usual. They have a section on the website called Popular offers from ______ for the next month which showcases the dates with the lowest prices for different airports. It's a great way to search for flights and get inspiration for dates (if you have yet to settle on one yet!). Ticket prices are fairly competitive. For example, a ticket to Taiwan from Singapore costs around $873 for November for 1 adult.
You can see ticket prices for each month but you'll have to select the date range you're planning to book for in order to view it. It does not have a calendar scroll function to look at other months at the same time.
Refund: There's a 7-day refund available but only if you bought the tickets from their website itself
Children fares: There are children ticket fairs but are only applicable to passengers who are between 2 to under 12 years old.
#HHWT Tip: Book these tickets at least a few months in advance as tickets sell out fast (especially during peak periods such as November and December).
Cabin Class
Starlux offers the usual cabin classes but with an added Premium Economy class. Some of these cabin classes only apply to the A350-900 fleet! They are: First Class and Premium Economy. We'll highlight the difference between Premium Economy and Economy here!
Premium Economy and Economy
There are a few features that separate Premium Economy and Economy. One of the key characteristics of Premium Economy is The configuration of the seatings is the 2 - 4 - 2 seats, with each seat featuring a leg and footrest as well as the ability to recline. It comes with a set of extra amenities such as a more luxurious pillow and blanket, more food options and a small amenity kit. There is also a dedicated Premium Economy bathroom.
PS: Book your seats early if you do not want to sit in the middle of the 4 seat rows!
Packages
When booking a flight, you have 4 packages to choose from which all offer different types of privileges. They are: Limited, Saving, Basic and Full.
All tickets are valid for a year. The difference between each ticket is usually around +$100. Note: For Premium Economy, there are only 3 packages to choose from. Limited is not available.

Cabin Amenities
In-flight entertainment
Starlux's flights provide you with your own in-flight entertainment service center. There will be a TV screen that's around 13.3 inch 4K resolution that has a touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. So if you've got your own headphones or earphones, you'll be able to use them on Starlux's flights! There are USB ports for charging as well as an AC outlet that are found at your seat.
They offer a variety of movies and TV shows and even have the latest showings of movies that have come out recently. However, they have a limited amount of English movies and TV shows.
If you have booked a seat with extra leg space, the entertainment system is pretty far from your seat and makes it hard to navigate.
Meals
You're able to pre-order your meals before your flight for all classes. However, for halal meals, we recommend contacting Starlux's customer service (at least 72 hours before your flight) to ask for halal meals.
They have meals dedicated to children and babies as well. The baby meals are suitable for infants from 6 months to 2 years old. They consist of ready-made canned weaning food, pureed fruits and smoothies. No milk formula is available. Child meals are soft and great for children who are 2 to 5 years old.
Amenities for Young Children
Starlux provides bassinets which you can reserve by contacting their customer service. The infant must be over 7 days in order to be accepted onto the flight. There is also a changing table available in their flight but diapers are limited so you are highly recommended to bring your own!
Infants can enjoy a complimentary selection of Standard and Forward seats regardless of the package chosen. You will have to reserve the seat on their website or contact customer service 3 hours before departure.
With competitive ticket fares and a substantial amount of services, Starlux could be the next budget airline you can take for your next trip!
