South Korea Makes Travel Easier: Visa Fee Waivers & New Visa-Free Trial For 2026!

Annyeonghaseyo, travellers!

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to book those flights to Incheon, this is it. South Korea is rolling out the red carpet for us with some major travel updates that will make your 2026 trip much lighter on the wallet!

1. Visa Processing Fee Waiver Extended!

First up, the news we’ve all been waiting for: South Korea has officially extended the visa processing fee waiver for short-term group tourists (C-3-2 visa) until 30 June 2026! This applies to travellers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, India, China, and Cambodia.

Originally set to expire, this extension means you save about 18,000 KRW (approx. USD 12.50 / IDR 200,000) per person. While it might seem small, that’s extra budget for an extra round of Halal Korean Fried Chicken in Myeongdong!

2. New Visa-Free Trial for Indonesians

In even bigger news, the South Korean government recently announced a visa-free entry pilot program specifically for Indonesian tour groups. Under this trial, groups of three or more travelling through approved travel agencies can enter South Korea without a visa for up to 15 days!

This trial is expected to run through mid-2026 as part of their goal to hit 30 million tourists.

What you need to know:

  • Group Size: Minimum 3 people.
  • Requirement: You must book through a travel agency recognised by the Korean Embassy.
  • Benefit: No more tedious individual visa paperwork for your family or squad trips!
