SG’s Highest Open Air Panoramic Ride Opens Tomorrow, Here’s What You Need To Know

Sentosa Singapore's got a new panoramic ride that opens tomorrow and we're all super excited! ? If you're planning to head up into the skies with this new ride, here's what you need to know.

Skyhelix Sentosa Opens Tomorrow!

Located within the collection of attractions at Imbiah Lookout, SkyHelix Sentosa is an unforgettable gondola ride. Gently rotating 79 metres above sea level along a vertical helix-like structure, guests on the ride will enjoy stunning 360° sights of Sentosa on one of the highest vantage points on Sentosa.

1. Breathtaking Views

At 79m above sea level, the view is both startling and breathtaking. HHWT was lucky enough to have gotten on the ride at sunset, which means watching beautiful hues of orange and yellow descend beyond the horizon from 12 storeys high! The ride lasted 12 minutes, and every minute was worth it. ?

Rotating gently way above the cable cars in Sentosa, you'll get to enjoy a much clearer view of Sentosa's beauty. If you're riding this attraction at night, you're in for a much more attractive sight! Once dark, the gondola lights up with soft, neon lights, enhancing your view of the island. You definitely won't get enough of riding this attraction just once - head up at different timings to get many different views of Sentosa!

2. You Have To Be Of A Certain Height

While the attraction is definitely family-friendly for families with older children, there are certain rules that need to be followed. To get on the Skyhelix Sentosa, you'll have to be at least 1.05m in height. Guests between 1.05m to 1.2m in height or 12 years old and below may only take the ride if accompanied by a supervising adult.

The ride is also not suitable for expectant mothers, anyone with a fear of heights or guests with limited mobility. Do also ensure that you are well and have no existing conditions such as motion sickness or vertigo before heading on the ride! Safety first ?

3. You Can Bring Food & Drinks

Although the cafe just underneath the Skyhelix is not halal-certified, they do provide halal-certified food options and non-alcoholic drinks for anyone who's feeling a little peckish! The best part? You can bring them up the ride ? Skyhelix's gondola is equipped with cup holders for you to securely place your drinks without fear of them falling 12 storeys down!

4. Safety Measures

Safety is always a concern in a pandemic - but not to worry! Skyhelix Sentosa has measures in place to make sure that all guests stay safe. Beyond the usual Safe Entry check-ins and mandatory masks, groups must also maintain a maximum of 5 pax. You'll also be assigned seats before heading up to ensure that groups are separated on the ride.

The gondola table is also sanitised after every ride to prevent the spread of covid-19. Safety first! ?

5. Ticket Prices & How To Get There

Ticket prices go at $18 for adults and $12 for children 12 years and below, a pretty affordable sum for gorgeous views ?

If you're planning to drive, the nearest car park is Imbiah Lookout Carpark. It's only a 2-3 minute walk from there to Skyhelix! Alternatively, you can take the Sentosa Express from VivoCity or Mount Faber. Guests from VivoCity may drop off at Imbiah Lookout station, while guests from Mount Faber should drop off at Sentosa station. From either station, it's only a 5 minutes walk to Sentosa's Skyhelix!
