This humble Hougang café is one of the more well-known hipster cafés in Singapore! Famous for creative dishes like Milo-coated chicken, salted egg yolk croissant, and Singapore's first-ever raclette cheese, Flavour Flings is the place to be for the trendiest dishes around. They have an extensive menu and even recently introduced their version of the viral Yakult cake that's been making its way around the internet! The Yakult cake is only available while stocks last so hurry down to get your slice before they sell out.

2. Kampong Chai Chee Restaurant

Kampong Chai Chee Restaurant's North-East outlet is located nearby the scenic Coney Island. So you can grab a bite before exploring the neighbourhood or enjoying a bit of scenery. ? When we think of 'Tenderbest' or 'Tenderfresh' the first thought that comes to mind might be their hawker centre stalls. But did you know that they have a gorgeous café too? ? Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop has 2 outlets in Singapore, including one at Jalan Kayu. Located right next door to Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop is Steak Me! Established by the famous chef Amri, it was previously the restaurant Le Steak, and its menu boasts an array of tantalizing steaks and different cuts of meat for you to choose from. ? For those of you who want a taste of premium meat, treat yourself to their Wagyu Ribeye and Wagyu Tomahawk! They'll definitely satisfy your steak cravings and more.

5. Tang Tea House

Got a late-night craving for dim sum? You can always count on Tang Tea House to satisfy your dim sum fix! Their menu has classics like Shanghai steamed dumplings, Siew Mai, Har Kow and their famous Liu Sha Bao or Golden Sand Pau that oozes out warm, sweet, and salty salted egg yolk filling with a single bite. 6. Buey Tahan See-Food

We'll never get tired of more seafood and zi char! ? Buey Tahan See-Food has several outlets in Singapore, and they have delivery services too! Their sambal seafood, salted fish fried rice, or seafood fried tang hoon will be perfect to share with your family. But if you're planning for a feast, make sure to get their "Crab in Da Bag" imperial pot and top it off with some hotplate sambal stingray, sweet and sour grouper and cereal prawns.

7. D'Laksa

This Malaysian brand is actually big across the Causeway - but now you can get D'Laksa in Singapore too! Famous for their Penang-style Asam Laksa, their laksa bowls are affordable and packed full of sweet, spicy, and sour Asam flavour. In fact they only have 4 items on the menu - Asam Laksa, Asam Lobsterball, Asam Fishball, and Fruit Rojak - so you won't have to worry about what to pick!

8. Big Fish Small Fish

Zi char isn't the only way you can have a seafood feast in the North-East. Big Fish Small Fish is here too with their quick and easy take on a classic British favourite! Choose from a range of fish for your fish and chips (the Sea Bass, Halibut, and Haddock come highly recommended) and top it off with sides like buttered corn, garlic toast, or mashed potato. Here's a hidden hawker gem you might have missed out on your last trip to Sengkang. ? Rumour has it that Sengkang Square Oyster Omelette has some of the best oyster omelette and char kway teow in the area! The char kway teow has great 'wok hey' taste, and they also have other local dishes such as hokkien mee and carrot cake. Time to try it out this weekend!

Fish & Chicks is one halal Western hawker stall in Singapore you should be looking out for. They're putting an Asian spin on fish and chips and other Western favorites with their signature Fish & Chicks surf-and-turf style platter! They even have Lobster Pasta, Truffle Carbonara Pasta with Char-Grilled Chicken, and Mentaiko Salmon Pasta!

Their fried chicken has a golden crust and you can have it covered in sauce or on its own. Their Nasi Ayam Goreng is a standout dish you've got to try - the fried rice and fried chicken are the perfect meal to lift your spirits through the day!
