A 1.5 km. pedestrian shopping street with a Tang Dynasty vibe, just south of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the statue of Xuanzang monk. The corridor is packed at night, illuminated with red lanterns and lighting. Many women, young and old in Hanfu, a traditional Chinese dress, posting for photos everywhere. The atmosphere is incredibly cheerful. It is definitely worth a visit whilst in Xi'an.

When you’re visiting Xi’an you really have to come here, it would be difficult to miss to be honest. The ‘mall’ and surrounding areas is like its own city, it’s huge! There are so many shops and eateries, live performances, music, lights… your sense are attacked from all angles but is incredible!

It may be newly built, commercial, and “not authentic” but it doesn’t take away from the experience of mixing with locals, eating your way through the food stalls, and just enjoying the lights, the colours and the atmosphere.

Datang Everbright City is absolutely worth a visit if you're in Xi’an! It’s like stepping into a scene from ancient China, but with all the energy of a modern-day night market. The whole area is beautifully lit up at night, with colorful lights, street performers, and themed shows that bring the Tang Dynasty vibe to life. You can walk all the way from the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda to the city wall ruins—it’s a long stretch but full of cool sculptures, street art, and traditional-style buildings. The vibe is festive, especially in the evenings when it really comes alive. There’s a great mix of history, culture, and entertainment. You’ll find musicians, dancers, and even people dressed in Tang-era costumes. Definitely grab a snack or two from the food stalls (there’s everything from street food to fancy tea houses), and take your time soaking it all in. Pro tip: Go around sunset and stay into the night. That’s when it’s at its most magical.
