After a long hiatus, due to the Pandemic, I was back in Shanghai to see old friends. I also wanted to buy several items that friends back home asked me for, and I knew that for that I had to go to the famous "Fake Mall". Having visited it in 2019 I expected big changes like many stores closed or less attractive merchandise. Nothing like that. Everything looks just like it did 5 years ago. I was tasked to buy some ornamental jewelry and also a pearl collar. After walking through I settled on 2 stores where I found some great selection and prices (after the customary haggling). For the first items it was Cathy Jewelry at B1-27 and for the pearls it was Lily Jewelry at F-6. Both ladies speak pretty good English and were more than helpful, really taking their time with me, even though other customers walked in. I guess when you treat people as people, with respect, and not just as sales persons, then you can expect to be treated the same way. They were so helpful even after the sale, one accompanying me all the way in that big mall to a shoe store that she recommended (they didn't have my size for the shoes where the shoe size is printed on them, like the picture) and the other lady walking me through the maze to a clean rest room. Both of them were so sweet. I told them I would come back on my next trip, even if it's just to have some tea with them.
Nice place for clothing, Tailor made suits, electronics, local traditional gift items. But please be careful about rate bargains, there are nothin on fixed prices.
Absolutely huge and endless shopping but you need to bargain hard here ! Offer half of asking price and walk away ! There are repeat stores every few steps Too many shops too many deals well worth a visit
Was a bit difficult to find, but we got there. Heaps of clothes, electronics, tech, bags, shoes, all for VERY VERY good prices - you MUST haggle. There a a few Chinese takeaways and restaurants there as well. A very large tailor made suit area if that’s what you need. Can get there via the Metro (underground) or taxi or DiDi.
