Aah Bangkok, the shopping paradise for shopaholics. Even if you’re not a fan of shopping you’d enjoy strolling through its endless markets and shopping malls! In Bangkok, the prices are low but the quality is high — especially if you know where to go. If you’re travelling here for the first time, look for any of these items to take home: silks, gemstones, tailor-made clothes, handicrafts, and jewellery. You can find almost anything you want at outlet stores and shopping malls in Bangkok. If you don’t know where to start, here are 10 malls and outlets you can check out to satisfy your shopping needs! 

1. MBK Center

If you’re looking for something low-key and smaller fashion stores, the MBK Center is for you! The seven-storey mall has around 2000 shops and you’ll find clothes, accessories, leather bags, cosmetics and perfumes on the first three floors. The mall is also well-known for selling electronics and mobiles at a reasonable price, so it’s a must-visit for ardent shoppers!

2. Icon Siam 

Your trip to Bangkok is not complete without a visit to the newest and the “mother of all malls” in Bangkok — the grand Icon Siam which opened in November 2018. The mall is strategically located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River that runs through the city. The Icon Siam mall is a fun place to visit, not only to shop but to indulge in a wide variety of delicious Thai food from all over the country.

The ground floor is designed like a Thai food market, where you can indulge in a wide variety of delicious Thai food. There is even a canal running through the Market, making it look a bit like a floating market! Be sure not to miss the open-air rooftop garden with a fantastic panoramic view of the Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok skyline. So, make sure not to miss the spectacular water and multimedia show at the giant water fountain in front of the mall.

3. Siam Paragon

Siam Paragon, also known as Bangkok's pride, is home to Southeast Asia's largest aquarium, 16-screen Cineplex and high-end brands. This mall has over 250 shops and is mainly known for luxury items. From Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Rolex to Prada, Gucci and Mont Blanc, you'll find all the international brands here! Don't forget to take your credit card along as you'll see some of the most expensive products here and is home to some of the most elite shopping in Bangkok.

4. Central World

Central World is the ultimate Bangkok shopping mall! You can find anything here, so it’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of time to visit all the shopping malls in the city. Be sure to check out the Central Food Hall where you can indulge in all sorts of Thai and international food, drinks, snacks, and Thai souvenirs. It is Bangkok’s best grocery store!

Central World is also the place to be for the New Year’s Eve Countdown Party as this is one of the places in Bangkok where they have firework displays. So, if you’re heading to Bangkok for New Year’s, be sure to add Central World to your list!

5. Pantip Plaza

Geeks and tech nerds, this is one of the best shopping malls in Bangkok for you! Pantip Plaza is a five-floor building that is perfect for your electronic needs. You can expect a wide selection of software, local TV series, and games here. On top of the gadgets and trinkets, you can also get your phone repaired at this mall. In case your camera starts to malfunction, stop by any of the distinguished camera shops like Nikon and Canon.

6. Siam Discovery

Siam Discovery has just been through a significant renovation and is brighter, shinier, and cooler than ever! It has an entirely new layout with an open and airy market-like feel. It consists of many hip international brands, and you can find an impressive variety of stuff here, everything from housewares to toys, shoes, and clothes. The new and improved mall makes it easy to find your way around as it feels airy, fresh, and bright.

7. EmQuartier

EmQuartier is located just next to Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain Station, making it very easy to reach. Opened in 2015, it’s a very hip and fantastic shopping mall to spend your day shopping. The mall has an impressively cool and earthy design with a gigantic rainforest chandelier (yep, made of real plants!) in the middle, surrounded by staircases. In addition, the facade of the building houses a vertical garden with the highest waterfall in Bangkok called Waterfall Quartier. We love how green and earthy the mall is. So cool!

8. Bangkok Fashion Outlet

Fashion outlets are a great place when you know where to shop in Bangkok. They are a great alternative when you want to centre your shopping on just things to wear, especially if the items are discounted as high as 90%! There are more than 500 Thai and international brands here as well as eight department stores such as  Giordano, Marks & Spencer, and Crocs outlets.

9. Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok

At Siam Premium Outlets in Bangkok, you can treat yourself to a selection of 200 luxury and high street brands! Get up to 70% off on brands like Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, and DNKY. You can also find Thailands’s largest outlets for Skechers, Kate Spade New York, and Coach. To add to the list, tech geeks should be excited to know that Nintendo and Garmin are at Siam Premium Outlets. On the other hand, streetwear and sportswear enthusiasts can thrive at their favourite brands: Vans, Mango, American Eagle, Nike, Adidas, and North Face.

10.  Chatuchak Weekend Market

Chatuchak weekend market, also known as the JJ market, is the world's largest outdoor market and is on every shopaholic's bucket list. This vast market is about 35 acres and has more than 10,000 shops! Get ready to be astonished by the variety of products being sold here. You can find handicrafts, books, furniture, clothes, tableware, handmade souvenirs and even reptiles on sale here! The best time to visit Chatuchak is around 10:00 in the morning when it is the least crowded.
