If there's one place we miss travelling to the most, it's Japan. From Muslim-friendly Japanese cuisine to an endless list of picturesque scenery, we can't wait till the borders reopen! In the meantime, we'll be curing our travel blues by visiting the newly opened Selangor-Japanese Friendship Garden in Shah Alam ?

Opened less than a week ago, the garden is located next to Dataran Kemerdekaan and was built as a sign of gratitude to Japan as mentioned by Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) mayor, Datuk Hari Kasim. He also stated “We hope this garden will become a new focal point for tourists, especially from Japan and local visitors to check out the elements related to Selangor“. So whether you miss travelling abroad or are looking for a new spot to visit, this garden is the perfect place to add to your bucket list.

With free entrance and free parking, there's no reason not to plan a weekend visit to the garden with your loved ones! You'll get to explore various scenic zones which includes the Zen Space, Maze Pond, Torii Gate, Reflexology Space, Stone Basin, and Terrace Space. To further elevate the experience, there's also a Tsukubai - a Japanese culture where visitors purify themselves by washing their hands and rinsing their mouths at the wash basin.

As you make your way through the site, don't forget to snap photos and share them on your feed for an instant aesthetic look!

The entire park is decorated with lush greenery - so no matter which zone you're in, you're guaranteed an awesome background for you photo. Plus, you'll find Japanese-inspired elements everywhere like bamboo-themed fences and the use of stone and wood. It's truly a unique space that'll no doubt transport you to Japan. Now that you know about this place, it's time to schedule a visit soon with family and friends ?
