Halal BBQ, Zi Char, Indonesian cuisine, Asian, and Western fare - nope, we’re not listing out the stalls in a food court. These are all the cuisines you can get at one humble halal hawker stall in Jurong East! ? Sedap Wok in JEM shopping mall has a creative menu that brings together all of your favourite local and international cravings under one roof at super-affordable prices. ?

Sedap Wok started out as a retirement project for its main stakeholder Mdm Salbiah. Stuck at home and getting bored of cooking all day, she and her close friends decided to set up the stall to fulfill her dreams of delivering high-quality homecooked-style halal dishes at an affordable price. ? Mdm Salbiah (affectionately called “Mama” by her close friends and co-owners) handles the cooking and menu of the stall, and they recently even had a $2.50 briyani giveaway after Friday prayers to thank their fans and community!

The Kari Mak Mak Noodle Pot ($9.90) can be shared by up to 2 diners and combines everyone’s favourite spicy Mama noodles with fresh seafood. ? The soup is made fresh daily and brewed for over 6 hours to really bring out the rich sweetness of the seafood in the broth. You can tackle it on your own, or it’s perfect for sharing with a friend! Add on other favourites like Home-Made Sambal Fried Rice ($5.50) or BBQ Grouper ($7.90) to really complete your feast.

Make sure to try their Sedap Wok Big Seafood Platter ($24.90) that’s good for 2-3 diners and includes all of your favourite seafood in one plate. ? You can choose the seafood you want, and have it grilled fresh on their live BBQ station before it’s served. It even comes with salad and fried rice or noodles for a complete meal! Plus just for now, they’re having a special offer - you’ll get 2 free Abang Fried Chicken Wings for every order more than $30! ?

If you can only try one thing, then it would have to be their Pulut Durian dessert! Their take on the Malay desserts pulut kukus and durian pengat consist of glutinous rice topped with a generous scoop of 100% real durian paste, and a serving of home-made coconut milk. The chewy stickiness of the rice goes so well with the creamy coconut milk and the sweetness of the durian. ? Only 20 sets are made daily so you’ll be super lucky to get a plate before it sells out! The Sedap Wok Bola de Durian ($8.90) is another sweet option you’ll love. It’s made with chewy mochi that’s stuffed with durian paste before being deep-fried. Though they may have a crunchy shell, the soft and chewy mochi goes perfectly with the rich and creamy durian paste. ? You won’t be able to stop at just one bite!

The best part is that Sedap Wok’s large menu and generous portions are all perfect for sharing. Whether you’re dining as a couple or having a small family dinner out, you’ll no longer need to fight over where to go as you’ll have a variety of choices at Sedap Wok! ? Plus for every order above $30 you can get 2 free Abang Fried Chicken Wings - sounds like enough reason to call your friends out for a catch-up session over good food!
