Ramadan is here and that means all sorts of preparation needs to be done! From pre-dawn meal preps to all the baking for Eid, it can get hard to manage your time during this holy month. In fact, everybody’s probably on the lookout for quick and easy recipes. So look no further - we’ve got 6 here for you!

We used the award-winning, versatile and all-in-1 Bosch HomeProfessional Kitchen Machine from their Elite collection for all 6 recipes, and it was really handy and convenient! With its variety of attachments and 7 speed settings, you can try a whole range of cooking methods – from mincing to baking, and even blending! This way, you can easily spare time for your other Ramadan priorities. Now let’s get cooking!

Sahur / Pre-Dawn Meal

1. Dragonfruit (Pitaya) Smoothie Bowl

Makes: 1 bowl

For a quick yet nutritious sahur meal, this smoothie bowl is perfect! Combine the refreshing ingredients below, blend them with the blender jug attachment included in the Bosch HomeProfessional Kitchen Machine and voila – your pre-dawn meal is all set. ?

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup strawberries
  2. 1 cup raspberries
  3. 1 pitaya
  4. 1 banana

Method:

  1. Blend all frozen ingredients in the blender jug.
  2. Pour into a bowl
  3. Top with your favourite ingredients
  4. Serve!

2. Mixed Berry Smoothie

Makes: 2 servings

If you prefer your smoothie as a beverage, try this! Packed with protein and quick to make, all you have to do is freeze your berries overnight and take them out to blend in no time at all. ?

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup blueberries
  2. 1 cup strawberries
  3. ½ cup blackberries
  4. ½ cup raspberries
  5. 1½ cups milk
  6. 1 cup yoghurt

Method:

  1. Blend frozen fruits with milk and yoghurt in the blender jug
  2. Serve!

3. Banana Mango Oat Smoothie

Makes: 2 servings

Oats are well-known as the go-to for staying full over long hours! Blend it together with bananas, mango and milk, and this sweet treat will have you all set for a long day ahead.

Ingredients:

  1. ½ cup rolled oats
  2. 1 banana
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. 1 mango

Method:

    1. Place all ingredients into the blender jug and blend
    2. Serve!

Iftar / Break-Fast Meal

4. Easy Chicken Burger With Homemade Coleslaw

Makes: 4 patties

Here’s something for Iftar! This juicy, tasty burger is the fuss-free meal you’ll be looking for. Just imagine – a café-quality burger without all the fancy prep! ?

Ingredients

Burger:

  1. 2 chicken breast
  2. 1 chicken thigh, deboned
  3. 1 medium onion, diced
  4. 1 garlic, diced
  5. Salt
  6. Black pepper
  7. Italian mixed herbs
  8. Corn-starch
  9. Burger buns

Coleslaw:

  1. 2 carrots
  2. ½ cabbage
  3. ½ lemon, juiced
  4. Mayonnaise

#HHWT Tip: Prepare the patty and coleslaw the night before so that you’ll only need to fry the patty and assemble your hearty meal for an energized day ahead!

Method:

  1. Mince all the meat using the mincer attachment
  2. Add onion, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian mixed herbs and corn-starch to minced meat and mix well
  3. Shape the patties and fry over medium heat
  4. Shred carrots and cabbage using the slicer attachment
  5. In a bowl, mix shredded carrots and cabbage with mayonnaise and lemon juice. You can use the citrus press attachment that comes with the HomeProfessional Kitchen Machine for your zest of juice!
  6. Assemble the burger with your favourite toppings and serve with coleslaw

Hari Raya Treats

5. Tapak Kuda Nutella (Nutella Horse Shoe Cake)

Makes: 4 rolls

Now we’re on to kuih raya recipes! We’ve all seen this hot favourite cake oozing with mouth-watering Nutella at a relative’s place. Well, it’s actually pretty simple to make! With all the tools you need, it doesn’t take much time and effort to whip up one of your own, even if this is your first baking experience. ?

Ingredients:

  1. 10 egg yolks
  2. 5 egg whites
  3. 135g melted butter
  4. 110g plain flour
  5. 200g castor sugar
  6. 10g milk powder
  7. ½ tsp baking powder
  8. 1 tbsp ovalette
  9. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  10. 1 tsp chocolate emulco
  11. Nutella

Method:

  1. Whisk eggs, sugar & ovalette at low speed (#2) and then to medium speed (#4) for 8-10 minutes till mixture is thick and fluffy.
  2. Add sifted flour, milk powder and baking powder and mix well with the paddle attachment. The Bosch HomeProfessional Kitchen Machine uses a 3D planetary mixing system with a unique mixing motion – so that your mixes remain consistent!
  3. Add in the cool melted butter and vanilla essence and mix well
  4. Divide the batter into 2 bowls - ⅓ for bowl A and ⅔ for bowl B
  5. Add chocolate emulco to bowl A and mix well
  6. Pour a thin layer of chocolate batter into a lined & greased 10-inch square pan
  7. Pour the plain batter over the chocolate batter. Be careful not to mix the batter!
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes
  9. Once cooked, remove the cake from tray and cut the cake into 2
  10. Place the cut cake over a cling wrap and spread lots of Nutella onto it
  11. Fold the cake, wrap it up and refrigerate!

6. Chocolate Chip Meringue Cookies

Makes: 40-45 cookies

Everybody loves a sweet treat when Raya visiting, and you can never go wrong with meringue cookies. You’ll be happy to know that they’re surprisingly easy to make too! Use this recipe and you’re sure to impress your guests at home this Aidilfitri. ?

Ingredients:

  1. 4 egg whites
  2. ¼ teaspoon of salt
  3. ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  4. ¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
  5. 1 cup sugar
  6. 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  7. Food colouring (we used pink rose!)

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 105 degrees celsius
  2. Beat egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, and vanilla until soft peaks form using the whisk attachment and at high speed (#7). Don’t worry about spilling any ingredients – our Bosch HomeProfessional Kitchen Machine barely made any mess!
  3. Gradually add sugar (1 tablespoon every five seconds), and continue to beat at high speed (#7) until meringue is stiff and glossy
  4. Add a few drops of food colouring and mix
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips
  6. Drop meringue onto parchment-lined baking sheets. You can either use an ice cream scoop or 2 spoons.
  7. Top with chocolate chips.
  8. Bake until dry and just golden brown, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  9. Leave it to cool and serve!
