Situated off the coast of Terengganu, there are two ways to reach Pulau Redang: you can take a speedboat from Merang Jetty or a ferry from Shahbandar Jetty. If you're staying in one of the resorts in Pulau Redang, we recommend reaching out to your resort first before booking a ticket from a third party. Some of the resorts offer their own boat service (with pick-ups from their own jetty) or are able to secure ferry tickets on your behalf.

How to take a speedboat from Merang Jetty to Redang Island Jetty

Why travel from Merang Jetty: It's closer to Pulau Redang but requires a 43-minute drive from Kuala Terengganu.

Ferry fare (one-way)

  • Adult: RM55 per person (12 years old and above)

Do note that travellers departing from Merang Jetty are required to pay the Marine Park Department Malaysia fee and Merang Waterfront Jetty access fee

Marine Park Department Malaysia fee

  • Malaysian adult: RM5 per person
  • Non-Malaysian adult: RM30 per person
  • Malaysian child: RM2 per child
  • Non-Malaysian child: RM15 per child

Merang Waterfront Jetty access fee

  • Adult: RM5 per person
  • Child: RM5 per person (6 years old and above)
  • Child: Free (5 years old and below)

Duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour (one-way)

How to take a ferry from Shahbandar Jetty to Redang Island Jetty

Why travel from Shahbandar Jetty: It's only a 5-minute drive from Kuala Terengganu, but it takes longer to reach Pulau Redang.
