I would like to respond to the negative reviews by some sisters who did not have a good experience here. I was visiting NYC with children and we were near this mosque. It was clean, but crowded masha Allah. The sisters area is indeed in the basement. It is a little shabby but clean and no smell. The negative reviewers seemed to imply lack of concern for sisters but I did not perceive it that way. The building is quite old and certainly not originally designed as a place of worship, much less a place of worship that requires washing before prayers. I think they are doing the best they can given the physical constraints of a narrow building. We were treated with the utmost respect and politeness alhamdulillah.
