Just when you think you've found your favourite bakery, there's one that recently opened in Cyberjaya. Decked out with a lip-smacking display of cakes, cookies and desserts, this bakery is vying for the title.
Established in 2019, Pastribella Bakeshop has been something that co-founders Dr Ezani Monoto and Nurul Shai have been dreaming about since they were friends in school. After many bake sales later, including Dr Ezani's memorable win in Masterchef Malaysia season one, they opened their first bakeshop in Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya.
Step into Pastribella and be welcomed by a flutter of metallic cupcake cases on the wall. Emblazoned across the dining area is their belief that 'desserts are edible love' in bright neon lights. To keep you from second-guessing, their cake display will show you why.
Variety is their menu's middle name and as we mentioned, the cake display is filled with sweet surprises. Some weekday mornings, you'll find fruits frangipane tart and chocolate salted caramel cake. While on laid-back weekends, the chewy Noir cookies and chocolate hazel Nutella cake will entice you to come closer.
You know it'll be a treat if you spot Victoria sponge cake on display. Dive your fork into its fluffy sponge cake and let the sweetness of its Swiss meringue buttercream and homemade berry compote send you to cloud nine.
You may find the flourless chocolate almond torte to be absolutely sinful too. Great for anyone who prefers to dial down on sugar, this one is described as less sweet yet chocolatey. It only takes five ingredients to pull off this dessert wonder - chocolate, butter, eggs, almond and cream - but the result is absolutely decadent.
Do you know what else is worth a slice? The zesty lime meringue cheesecake and their best-selling burnt cheesecake. Since it's tough to choose between the two, we recommend savouring the best of both flavours instead.
Another thing worth trying is the crunchy churros that are made straight from their kitchen. Beautifully dusted with cinnamon sugar, Pastribella takes it further with a drizzle of dark chocolate and salted caramel. With ice cream on the side, this might turn into your favourite snack of the week.
If you're looking for more reasons to stay, Pastribella also serves hearty meals ranging from smoked duck carbonara, almond coriander pesto spaghetti with grilled chicken breast as well as duck red curry!
If you're lucky, you might spot the co-founder and Masterchef Malaysia winner, Dr Ezani behind the counter. And when you do, we suggest giving your compliments to the chef herself. With many delicious desserts to try, she might have won your heart (and appetite) without you even realising it.
