The ayam penyet (smashed fried chicken) craze may have hit us a while back, but how many of us are familiar with its cousin ayam geprek instead, which consists of fried chicken smashed together with chili sambal? ? Sounds like the perfect dish for any spice-lover to try, and we're already drooling thinking of what Papa Ayam has to offer!

Papa Ayam is a Muslim-owned stall located at 313@Somerset's food basement and is dedicated to bringing only the freshest and most tantalizing ingredients to ignite our tastebuds, as well as being the first eatery in Singapore dedicated to ayam grepek! You can choose between typical sambal, or try out something new such as the Balinese Matah sambal. Meaning 'raw' it consists of raw onion, lime, and chili padi to give your chicken the sour yet crisp kick it needs!

#HHWT Tip: If you're not a big fan of rice, you can always swap it out for some freshly cooked indomie instead! ?

Best of all, the spice levels come customizable - you can choose between level 1 to 15 depending on how brave you are that day ? And for those are really bold, give their WTF Challenge a shot. The spice level used is a spine-tingling Level 27! ? If you manage to gulp it all down within 5 minutes, you'll not only get it free-of-charge but your photo will go up on their wall of fame too.

P.S. If you finish it in 5-11 minutes you'll still have to pay for it, but your photo will still join the wall of fame as a worthy competitor!

To top it off, nibble on their lighter alternative to the local satay - the Satay Taichan - that consists of seasoned strips of chicken breast. The satay even comes with toppings such as melted cheese, making it a savoury snack that'll still satisfy your stomach ?

Papa Ayam doesn't have dedicated seating and is primarily a takeaway stall, so make sure to get there early and 'chope' your seats if you're planning to try them out.
