1. Far East Plaza

When it comes to street fashion, this mall hits the spot. Shops fill up 5 floors of Far East Plaza, selling all sorts of things that you can ask for – from accessories, shoes, clothes and beauty parlours! You can even find unique gems which are imported from Korean, China and Thailand.

2. Lucky Plaza

As the name suggests, you might just get lucky while finding the right top or shoes for you. While it may get a bit crowded during the weekends, there are just so many jewellery stores, watches, apparels and accessory shops in the mall. There are even occasional fleas held here!

The things sold here are wallet-friendly but you can still get a gorgeous piece or two to your wardrobe. You may even try your luck with some bargaining skills with the sellers there. Fast becoming one of the more well-known shopping destinations in the Orchard Road belt, 313@Somerset is nestled right above Somerset MRT station. How convenient is that? What makes this mall a little different is its Discovery Walk located on the ground floor. It is designed to give the vibes as though you are walking along a breezy street in Europe!

For all things glitz and glam, head over to Paragon which is one of Singapore’s premier upscale retail mall. Spread across six storeys are fashion stores, restaurants, and designer department outlets under one roof.

Claiming tax refunds

As a tourist in Singapore, if you make any purchases above $100 (including GST) at eligible shops, you may claim a refund on the 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST). To find out if the shop is participating in the Tourist Refund Scheme, you can look out for the “Tax Free” shopping logo or sign on the shop. Apply for your refund using the electronic TRS kiosks at Singapore’s Changi Airport Departure Check-in Hall and Departure Transit Lounge. You may choose to receive the refund in cash or have it credited to your card.
