NikoNiko is a Muslim-friendly restaurant that opened in 2021, run by a Srilankan Muslim named Aja-san who has lived in Japan for more than 7 years. The humble shop focuses its menu on mazemen (which literally translates to “mixed noodles”) and curry. Mazemen is available in three main flavours; miso, salt, and soy sauce (available in spicy too!), while the curry menu is available in eight flavours, from the popular chicken cutlet curry to vegetable curry. ?

If you’re overwhelmed with what to order, the chef recommends their curry noodles and Srilankan curry! Other dishes you can look forward to are fried gyoza, ramen noodles and more. ? But for chicken fans, you must try their chicken cutlet curry rice where you get to choose the spice level of your choice! But if you’re not a big fan of spice, you can order their chicken gyudon which is milder.

NikoNiko Mazemen is located along the main street in front of Asakusa Station in Tokyo which is relatively easy to get to. So, if you’re in the area, why not visit for a bowl of warm Japanese (that’s halal!). SHARE this article with someone who’s visiting Tokyo!
