Good news for those of you who are in Tokyo's shopping district of Ginza - a prayer room has just opened in Matsuya Department Store.

For those who are unfamiliar with Matsuya, it's actually one of Ginza's premier shopping stores and it's been around for 90 years ? With an increasing number of Muslim travellers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and more, it's heartwarming to see how Matsuya has catered to the needs of Muslims.

The prayer room is located on the rooftop of Matsuya's main building and what we love about it is that it's very spacious - it can fit 2-3 people at any time. Plus, it's equipped with prayer mats and a compass.

Did we mention that there's a wudhu area too? So, you won't have to do your ablutions at the toilet ? But do note that you'd still need to bring your own prayer garments.

As if the prayer room isn't awesome enough, you can also fill your tummy while at Matsuya! Just head over to Tsunahachi to savour their delightful tempura which is known to be light, crispy and not too oily ? The restaurant does not sell pork and they have a Muslim-friendly menu with no alcohol used in the cooking.
