There’s never a shortage of places to eat in Klang Valley, but we’d still be asking the age-old question, “Nak makan mana?” (where to eat?) that it’s our national anthem. Say no more, fam. We’ve got you. Fancy yourself freshly baked pastries or looking for an Instagram-worthy cafe with delicious food? Here’s a list of newly opened cafes in Klang Valley that you should check out. 1. Boink Bakery

Boink Bakery first started selling its signature pastries online and in May 2022, it bounced (pun intended) into brick and mortar. The super cosy cafe located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong promises heavenly baked goods. They don’t use preservatives so you can enjoy the freshness! Their must-try includes buttery, flakey croissants, ciabatta and chocolate roll. There are also sourdough, focaccia, soft rolls and cookies. Enjoy your pastries over a cup of black or white coffee. Yum!

2. Take A Bow

Located at The Sphere, Bangsar South, Take A Bow is perfect for those looking for a lunch spot. The cottage-inspired aesthetic and chill atmosphere would be soothing for a mid-day break. The menu features a variety of dishes with international influences, such as Turkish eggs, banh mi on avo, and Swedish meatballs. Their signature coffee, Einspänner, is a must try! Einspänner is a classic Viennese coffee that combines espresso and hefty amounts of whipped cream on top. Perfect for a pick-me-up treat!

3. Owlsome Cafe

Bright and minimalist, the Owlsome Cafe is a shutterbug’s dream come true. The textured coffee counter and terrazzo tabletops are perfect for your Instagram feed! Located in the growing cafe scene in Bukit Jalil, you can enjoy a range of sandwiches, pastries and coffee while checking out the scenery through the cafe’s floor-to-ceiling windows.

4. After One

If you’re looking for a healthy option, After One has all you need. The quirky new cafe is located off Yap Kwan Seng Road and it serves a range of pork-free and vegan-friendly menus. Highlights include cacio e pepe, Moroccan chicken and pancakes. They also offer delicious pastries and waffles! We also loved the interior — the vibrant colour palette mixed with different furniture styles is so unique. There’s also a spacious outdoor dining area with fun little nooks and corners to explore, so make sure to bring your camera!

5. My Kedai Coklat

Hands up, chocolate fans! My Kedai Coklat is the playground of all things chocolate and desserts. Located in SS2, Petaling Jaya, the new cafe specialises in the best of Malaysian chocolates in a warm, cosy space. Satisfy your sweet tooth cravings with its extensive range of tarts, cakes, and beverages crafted from locally sourced cocoa beans from Perak, Pahang and Kelantan. Try out chocolates from different regions and bring home some to share with your friends and family!

6. Kafe Bali

Fancy yourself in Bali but can’t afford the flight tickets? *cries in Ringgit* Well, Kafe Bali in Bandar Puteri, Puchong will have you feeling like you’re in Bali. The super Instagrammable cafe offers a fresh respite from the busy city life with its rattan and tropical-inspired furniture. The cafe is also perfect for large gatherings of friends and family. The menu features Western influences on Balinese flavours. We highly recommend the pasta penne kambing bumbu (spiced lamb)​, roti fried fish ciabatta​, and soto macaroni.

7. Yellow Brick Road Cafe 

Yellow Brick Road fans, rejoice! The popular brunch place has reopened its doors and has relocated to its new home at The Five, Bukit Damansara. Follow the yellow brick roads to brunch favourites and mains such as the Big Breakfast Bash, Truffle Scrambled Eggs and Butter Misoba. So, if you miss their fluffy pancakes and pastries, make sure to visit their new spot!

Halal status: The Guinness Chocolate Cake contains alcohol, but the rest of the menu is Muslim-friendly. ​​We recommend that you dine at your own discretion.
