This New Observation Deck In Yamanashi Gives You Amazing Front Seat Views Of Mt. Fuji

There are plenty of reasons why you should visit Mt. Fuji at least once in your lifetime, one of which is for its majestic views. The next time you take a trip there, make sure to plan accordingly so you know where to head to for the best views of the mountain.

Where is the best view of Mount Fuji?

There are several destinations where you can get an amazing view of Mt Fuji. Both the Shizuoka's Fujimi Terrace and observation deck at Fuji-Q Highland are popular spots for views from up high. Another place you can head to is Lake Kawaguchiko. Here, you'll be able to see the mountain standing tall behind the lake.

Recently, a new spot has opened up at Zekkei Panorama Kairo where you'll be able to admire panoramic views of the mountain, Lake Kawaguchiko and the entire city! Located on the Mt Fuji Panorama Ropeway, travel from ground level all the way to the top of Mt Tenjo that's 1,075 metres above sea level.

  • Getting there: Board the ropeway from Lakeside Station (a 2-minute and 20 second journey up the mountain). Once arrived at Fujimidai Station, walk a few minutes up the slope to reach the observation deck.
  • Admission feeThe observation deck is free to visit. A round-trip on the ropeway costs ¥900 (children ¥450).
  • Opening hours: Mon-Fri; 9.30AM-4PM, Sat-Sun; 9.30AM-5PM (Do note that opening hours may change depending on the season)
