The bakery's name refers to a fermentation starter used in bread making. Its baker, Naadhira spent 4 years in New York City learning how to perfect bread-making. Previously only at pop-up events, Mother Dough opened its permanent shop in May 2018 and has been plying us all with mouth-watering pastries ever since. Aren't we glad that happened?! With a selection of croissants, baguettes, quiches, and cakes, Mother Dough will make any pastry lover's dream come true.
One of their signature pastries has to be their Almond Croissant (SGD4.80). Baked to perfection with a delicious almond filling topped with slivered almonds and powdered sugar, you'll definitely want a bite of this yummy treat. If you're a chocolate lover, you can indulge in offerings such as their Sourdough Chocolate (SGD4.80) or a Brownieslice (SGD5.50).

While it might be easy to focus on their delicious sweet treats, don't forget to taste their savoury bakes too! Some popular options include their quiches as well as their savoury buns with fillings such as turkey ham or chicken sausage with gouda or spicy mushrooms.
Mother Dough rotates their bakes frequently, so you can look forward to checking out the different baked goods they have in-store every time you pop in! The bakery also has specials over the weekends, including some hot food like pizza and toasties. Their current weekend special for 26 February 2023 is a pepperoni pizza featuring toppings like smoked peppers, tomato garlic sauce, scamorza, Parmigiano reggiano, and hot honey!

#HHWT Tip: We highly recommend that you come early to get the best choice of all the baked goods available - if you drop by close to their closing time, there's a chance they might have run out on several of their items (they go fast!).

Mother Dough serves coffee too which would be the perfect pairing with your pastries. Their store is small, so it might be hard to get seats if you're in a big group, but if you visit during a quiet period or want to catch up over coffee and cake with a friend, it's a perfectly cosy space to do so. For those who want to sit and dine, there’s now a dining area on the second floor which is only open from Wednesday to Sunday! Now you won’t have to worry about reaching early to reserve a table.
