Mauritius reopens to vaccinated travellers in July 2021
Known for its scenic beaches and turquoise waters, Mauritius reopens to vaccinated international travellers starting from 15 July 2021. In effort to revive its tourism industry, this subtropical island country will reopen in stages with the first phase to begin from 15 July to 30 September 2021. During this time frame, vaccinated travellers are required to stay in hotels that are certified as COVID-19 safe for 14 days. They also need to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival as well as on Day 7 and Day 14 of their stay in Mauritius.
For travellers who are staying fewer than 14 days, they're only permitted to explore within the hotel and not allowed to explore the surrounding area or beyond. If the first phase is successful, Mauritius will fully reopen its borders on 1 October 2021, provided that travellers present a negative PCR test result and stay in a COVID-19 safe hotel.
