What is a croffle, you may ask? Well, it’s a hybrid between a croissant and a waffle. So, croffle. It’s a popular snack in South Korea and now you can try it at Madam Croffle here in Kuala Lumpur! Madam Croffle is brought to you by the same Korean Muslim couple who opened Eid, a Korean restaurant in Cyberjaya. Wanna know if the croffle is worth the hype? Enjoy different toppings for your croffle
The mechanism at Madam Croffle is simple: You just choose from plain or up to three toppings to complement your croffle. We tried two croffles with three different toppings (RM11.90 each). The first one with chocolate sauce, Biscoff and strawberries. This was the perfect combo, IMHO! The sweetness of the chocolate is balanced by the strawberries. The croffle is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Such a perfect delight!
For the second croffle, we opted for match dip, marshmallows and mangoes. This combo was too sweet for us though. The matcha was too sweet for our liking but luckily the sourness of the mangoes helped to balance it out. We’d definitely recommend the chocolate and strawberry combo!
Finish off with bingsu
Bingsu is a popular Korean dessert. It’s basically shaved ice cream with various toppings such as teh tarik, chocolate, taro, coffee, matcha and yogurt. At Madam Croffle, there are different types of bingsu flavours. We tried their signature bingsu — teh tarik (RM11.90)! We loved that the ice cream is not too sweet so that the toppings have the chance to shine. We had ours with chocolate balls and strawberries. This would entice any dessert lovers!
Overall, we loved how there are different toppings that you can enjoy with your croffle or bingsu. Honestly, even the plain croffle tasted amazing! We recommend you enjoy your croffle within 10 minutes as it could get tough once the sugar from the toppings seeps in. There are a few Madam Croffle outlets around Malaysia and more are opening.
