1. Batam, Indonesia
Just a ferry ride away, Batam has been the go-to for cheap eats, and buys as well as a variety of resorts available for rest and relaxation. Batam doesn't only have your typical short getaway activities, they also offer an amazing nature experience! You can visit Batam's Panbil Nature Reserve where you can feed a ton of animals like rabbits and parrots. You can even go trekking at the Deer Sanctuary or join an Eco Healing/Water Therapy hike!
PS: Check out the resorts you can stay at in Batam here!
2. Bintan, Indonesia

If you're looking for some luxury during your R&R, Bintan could be your destination! From resorts nestled within the tree tops, to those with their own private pools, you can look through our article and choose which resorts fit your vibe! Bintan is not only all resorts as they have beautiful blue beaches due to Bintan being a former mining town. Danau Biru is an example of the beautiful scenery that you can experience at Bintan. If you want to try out some water sports, there are plenty of resorts at Trikora Beach with activities such as kite-surfing and jet skiing. If you want to see more, you can read up on our article here!
3. Pulau Redang, Malaysia

White sandy beaches and jewel-green oceans, that's what await you at Pulaur Redang or Redang Island! There is a ton to do while you're there from snorkeling among the marine wildlife, riding a transparent kayak or even visiting a turtle hatchery! If you're just looking for some rest and relaxation, there are a ton of resorts (most are family-friendly!) that you can book. Lounge around on the sunchairs while you admire the gorgeous scenery. Or have a nice picnic by the beach under the shade of the coconut tree.

4. Krabi, Thailand

Everyone knows about Bali with its ocean resorts and beach living. However, with the increasing issues that Bali has been facing, Krabi could be the island getaway for you! From Krabi Town to Phi Phi Island, city and nature-lovers alike will find something to do in Krabi. If you're looking for some delicious food to enjoy, you can grab some delicious seafood or even nasi kerabu. You can check out our article on it here! With 154 islands surrounding Krabi, you can go island hopping and run your hands through the silky sands, or wade around in the blue-green ocean. If you're feeling brave, try out scuba diving, rock climbing or even cliff diving!
Psst.. if you don't know where to start, you can check out our guide here!
5. Da Lat, Vietnam

If you want to get away from the hot, humid weather, you can visit the quaint town of Da Lat which has an 'eternal spring' weather. The French architectural style due to its colonial past still stands today which you can marvel at. If you love weird and wacky, there is a self-named "Crazy House" in Vietnam which is built like a natural rock structure with tree roots extending out from the house itself. You can drop by and enter the house and marvel at its unique interior too (I won't spoil it here!). Visit Elephant Falls, a majestic waterfall or the Flower Gardens when they're in full bloom!
The long weekends should be a period of disconnecting form your everyday life and enjoying what the world has in store for you!
