When we think of a countryside escape, our first thoughts might be the beautiful green hills of Switzerland, or the stunning scenic landscapes of New Zealand - or even the tea plantations in Taiwan! But you can also experience a glimpse of farm life right here in Singapore with a visit to the Kranji Countryside. ? This neighbourhood in the north-west of Singapore has recently become a popular spot for families, couples, and friends to visit for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. And Origin Journeys has a Kranji Farm Tour experience that will take you to some of the most popular farms in the area!

P.S. Click here to book the Kranji Farm Tour and plan ahead for your next sunny day out!

The Kranji Farm Tour takes you to 2 of Singapore's farms - Hay Dairies and Bollywood Veggies. Spend a morning out and about listening to interesting anecdotes about farm life in Singapore, try some of the freshest local produce around, and simply breathe in the fresh air of the countryside. Kids will love exploring the farms, and getting to try goat's milk or freshly picked vegetables.

Hay Dairies has been Singapore's only goat farm since 1988, with more than 800 goats of various breeds. ? You can watch a goat milking session, observe the goats lazing around in the morning sun, or even purchase your own alfafa hay to hand-feed the curious creatures! Hay Dairies also sells their own fresh goat's milk (in Original and Chocolate flavours) so if you've never tried goat's milk before this is the perfect opportunity. Goat's milk is actually lower in lactose than cow's milk and has higher protein, calcium, and prebiotic levels. It's a refreshing and healthier choice to start your morning with! ?

Bollywood Veggies is an organic vegetable farm that's become a local superstar in recent months. The tour includes a guided session around Bollywood Veggies where you'll get to touch, smell, and taste some of their vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices. If you've started tending to your own home garden recently, it's a great chance to ask the experts for gardening tips too! ?Our reader Ros actually visited and explored the farm a while ago - check out her story to see what else is in store for you.

P.S. Bollywood Veggies has an on-site eatery called the Poison Ivy Bistro that uses vegetables and herbs from their farm in their cooking. They use halal-certified poultry and do not serve pork or beef - but do note that they are not halal-certified by MUIS as alcoholic beverages are sold. We recommend you dine at your own discretion, or seek alternatives.

The tour starts at 9AM at Kranji MRT station, followed by free and easy time at Hay Dairies, and a guided tour as well as free an easy time at Bollywood Veggies. You'll arrive back at Kranji around 11.45AM - perfect for grabbing lunch at these 11 halal eateries in nearby Woodlands and Sembawang after! The experience is available from now until 28 Feb 2021 so it's perfect for a weekend activity while the weather is nice and sunny. ?
