If you're in the Arab Street area, there's a new coffee shop to check out! Hailing from Indonesia, Kopiteori has awards under their belt for their quality coffee for a little pick-me-up. This is their first international store and we're glad that it's in Singapore!

Kopiteori was founded in Makasar, Indonesia in 2014 by Trian Fatrianto, who had won the 2019 Indonesia Cup Tasters Finals, which even led them to represent Indonesia in the World Cup Tasters Championships that year. A lot of effort and passion has been given to this Southeast Asian brand.

In terms of menu offerings, they offer an array of speciality coffees and pastries that you can try! They offer brewings of coffee from their line, such as Semendo Origin, which gives off a fruity aroma. If you're looking for more Indonesian coffee to try, head down to Kopiteori! One of their signatures on the menu is the Eskoja ($6.8) which is an Iced Coffee with Gula Jawa. Gula Jawa is palm sugar that has been boiled and moulded into pucks or any shape that makes it convenient to transport. Es Kopiteori ($5.80) is their signature iced coffee with a touch of caramel! The usual coffee offerings of Espresso ($4.50), Americano ($5), Piccolo ($6) and more are also available.

They not only sell coffee but teas as well such as Thai Green Tea ($4.50), Thai Tea ($4.50), Lemon Tea ($4.80) and also some Artisinal Tea

Kopiteori also sells a selection of coffee beans roasted on location that espresso lovers can try! Or if you're looking online, they offer beans such as Columbia Beans from their Exotic Series. They have a wide array of roasted coffee beans from Indonesia too, such as Kopi Sulawesi Tana Luwu or Kopi Sumatra Semendo Highland.

Pastries and dishes are also found on their menu! You can enjoy an Indonesian Pop Mie with your coffee, which is the first time I've seen it done in a coffee shop! Or try out a Risoles (Indonesian version of a Rissole), which is like a spring roll with meat and other goodies stuffed inside.

With the rising number of speciality coffee shops showcasing their talent and skills, Southeast Asia is truly a prominent competitor for all things coffee. Head down to Kopiteori and let us know what you think!
