First, there was cronut. Now, meet the Suprême: a heavenly, cream-filled croissant that’s taking the pastry world by storm. The good news is, you can try this delicious treat right here in Kuala Lumpur! The famous KLCG Confectionary and Bakery offers four delectable flavours of the Suprême: chocolate, pistachio, raspberry and salted egg!

Debuted at New York City's Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery in April, the croissant is offered in a variety of flavours like Corn Berry Crunch and Peaches N’ Crème, and costs US$8 (RM38) each. Despite the high price, the Suprêmes became so in demand that the bakery limits each customer to one croissant. TikTokers and Instagrammers also posted many videos of themselves tearing into the fancily-decorated pastry.

Don’t confuse the circular croissant with the French pastry kouign-amann (pronounced “queen ah-mahn”)! While the look is almost identical, the kouign-amann has a shiny, caramelly coating as it’s baked with sugar in between its pastry layers, and typically doesn’t come with fancy fillings or toppings.

The unique circular croissant features a layered and flakey stuffed with rich and decadent cream that pours out of the flaky treat when ripping this pastry ? It’s a denser version of its crescent-shaped sister, with more layers in the pastry. But it’s just as crispy and buttery, made ever more yummy and decadent!

Can’t wait to try it out? Make your way to KLCG Confectionery & Bakery soon!
