While you’re looking forward to Ramadan, you’re definitely not going to be enjoying coffee-less mornings! If the thought of handling your caffeine withdrawals sounds like a scene straight out of a horror movie, you’re not alone ? While you should consider tapering off your caffeine a̶d̶d̶i̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶  drinks sooner or later, we give you some tips to tide through Ramadan with your favourite cuppa to power through the day! ?

You Don't Have To Ditch Coffee Fully This Ramadan 2022 With These 4 Tips

1. Add less sugar into your coffee

A spoonful of sugar does not help your caffeine withdrawal for 12 hours go away! Cut down the amount of sugar you usually need, by a quarter first, then gradually increase it to half. If that sounds like a hassle, Kim’s Duet Coffee keeps the Singaporean kopi taste you love with lower sugar content ? Choose from a range of products that includes reduced sugar, no sugar added and low-fat variants - all in line with the Health Promotion Board guidelines! And as promised, your daily must-have kopi will taste the same, just a lot healthier and lasts you throughout the day without giving you a sugar crash while you’re fasting ? Also, sugar drowns out the coffee flavour you love, so the lesser the sugar, the stronger the taste and kick to keep you energised! ?

P.S. Here’s something to pump up even more energy: if you use our promo code HHWT, you’ll get to enjoy 10% off and free delivery with a minimum spend of $15! Click on this link to find out more

2. Cut down the time you take to brew your coffee

You can’t cut out caffeine completely, we understand, but you can actually reduce the amount of time you take to brew. The caffeine content increases the longer your grounds brew in water, so take off a minute or more when you’re brewing your coffee! ? Don’t worry about not achieving the full flavour of coffee that keeps you awake: Kim’s Duet Coffee only takes 3 minutes to brew, yet you can taste a perfect balance between acidity, sweetness, and bitterness; the markers of a good cup of coffee ? With 3 decades worth of craftsmanship such as slow-roasting a small batch of beans to maintain freshness, you’ll have a thoroughly satisfying experience you love in a cuppa and we bet that definitely sets you up in a good mood for the rest of your day ?

3. Drink 1 to 2 hours before for sahur ends

It’s much better to have your coffee during sahur, instead of iftar, because breaking fast with coffee will cause you to have stomach discomfort! However, it’s advisable to only drink a maximum of one cup because too much of it might cause dehydration, and when you’re fasting, this is a situation you do not want to be in ?

Kim’s Duet offers premium Robusta beans for a stronger caffeine kick, so you can still get the maximum strength you need in one small cup. We get how it’s challenging to wake up for sahur, and sometimes you might not have time to prepare a meal. Fret not, because Kim’s Duet Coffee has such an easy, fuss-free preparation method! After adding the sachet of your choice into a cup, pour 150ml of boiling water into said cup (ideally between 92 to 96 °C). Use a spoon to stir and press on the sachet gently, and steep it for 3 minutes. You can even add up to 2 teaspoons of condensed milk if you like your Kopi to be creamier.

Sounds simple right? What’s even better is that it’s not instant coffee, so you’ll get the delicious, authentic coffee you love! Why not try your luck and win some vouchers to bring back these roasted delights? Simply post a photo of your favourite local brew, tag your kopi buddy and Kim’s Duet on Facebook and stand a chance to win a $100 Kim’s Duet e-Voucher! Remember to set your account to public. The contest will end on 3rd May 2022, so don't miss it! ?

4. Consider switching to tea

Okay, before we start throwing hands, it’s a widely known fact that tea also contains caffeine, however it’s much lower than coffee ? It’s also gentler on the stomach, as compared to coffee; perfect for your break fast drink. Kim’s Duet Tea series has all your Kopitiam tea favourites covered, such as Teh-O and Teh-C. It also follows the same HPB guidelines as their Coffee series, so you’ll rest assured that you wouldn’t be overloading your body with too much caffeine and sugar that might affect your health and fasting! ?

If you must have a hot beverage after breaking fast or after terawih sessions, try a warm cup of tea instead! You only have a few hours before you need to sleep and wake up for sahur, and a cup of Kim’s Duet Teh-O would give the warm, fuzzy feeling you love ?

We know cutting off a coffee from your life suddenly just sounds like a horrible idea, but that does not mean you should keep to your habits during Ramadan, especially when you’re abstaining from food and water for 12 hours or even longer! These tips can hopefully tweak your habits a little while you still hold on to your cuppa ? Make Kim’s Duet Coffee your best friend this Ramadan - it’s healthier, stronger even at a shorter brew and locally made. You’ll even get a special discount of 10% and free delivery with a minimum spend of $15 via this link if you use our promo code HHWT, which comes in handy to stock up for yourselves and your guests for your upcoming Raya open house! ?
