The HHWT team, on our quest in search of good food for our readers, stumbled upon Kenny Roger Roaster's new plant-based menu a while back. It seems halal and vegetarian options are no problem with Kenny Roger Roaster's! According to other reviews, their new plant-based menus don't sacrifice on our favourite, juicy meaty flavours. Sceptical, we decided to try it for ourselves. And now, we're here to tell you how it really tastes ?

Plant-Based Meats At Kenny Roger Roasters

No need for introductions! Kenny Rogers Roasters, the fast casual dining eatery is famous for its meats - especially their Rotisserie-roasted Chicken. ?

But if you're looking to enjoy a healthier meal, or searching for halal vegetarian options, you have to try Kenny Roger Roasters' new plant-based menu.

The new plant-based menu is a haven for any pasta-lover. It features 3 delicious classic pasta dishes with a twist: meats present in the dishes like Bolognese's meatballs are now made with OmniMeat, a plant-based alternative.

Since we were hungry, the HHWT team decided to have a taste of almost everything on the new menu, which includes the Omni Meatball Bolognese,Omni Strips Aglio Olio and Omni Luncheon Carbonara!

We started off with the Omni Meatball Bolognese and Omni Luncheon Carbonara.  When they first arrived, nothing seemed different.

The Bolognese was served with the usual fragrant Italian ragu, sprinkled with condiments and spices to give the dish and extra kiss of taste. Not going to lie, our mouths watered just watching it come to the table. The Carbonara's creamy sauces and bits of Omni Luncheon meats did well to make our stomachs grumble too!

What was especially intriguing was the fact that the Omni Luncheon meats were said to contain 0mg cholesterol, is rich in protein and provides dietary fibre, potassium and calcium. For the uninitiated, luncheon meats tend to be unhealthy! They contain lots of sodium and sometimes fat as well as some preservatives like nitrites. So we were looking forward to dig into these dishes.

Long story short? One bite, and we were sold. ? We could barely tell the difference between the plant meat and our usual regular meat! While the texture differed slightly from your regular meat (it was a little rougher, and less chewy), the meatballs were juicy, flavourful and tasty. ? Kenny Rogers Roasters' plant-based menu definitely did not skimp on the taste!

P.S. If you're a fan of Aglio Olio, the Omni Strips Aglio Olio definitely did not disappoint either. The dish was sautéed in sliced garlic and olive oil, sprinkled with spicy red pepper flakes and tasty Omnimeat Strips. Plus, just like the Carbonara's luncheon meat, the Omnimeat Strips are healthier! They're low in saturated fats, free from cholesterol and provides a source of dietary fiber, potassium, calcium and iron. ?

Oh, and did we mention we had a taste of the Omni Spam Fries? Prepared with Omnimeat Luncheon, it's supposed to be filled with all the health benefits the Omnimeat Luncheon provides, but in the familiar, crispy fry!

We're going to be honest: the Omni Spam Fries were pretty plain. Although it did taste much better once we dipped it in the curry sauce that it came with! Personally, we might have preferred chilli sauce though ? Just Singaporean things?

The upside: the fries are vegan-friendly and crispy! Ayeeshah, our writer, absolutely loves all things crispy and she downed the fries in seconds.

So if you're looking to try something new and delicious this month, remember to drop by Kenny Roger Roasters ? The plant-based set meal with drinks goes for just $29.90. It includes your choice of 1 plant-based pasta, omni spam fries and a choice of a free canned drink! Promo ends 31st March 2022, so make sure to rush over!
