One fine morning, I woke up from bed and decided to explore the Jubilee Walk for my morning adventure, a route I have wanted to do for quite some time. To just take a morning walk and capture photos of the places around me.

Jubilee Walk was launched in 2015 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. It is an eight-kilometre trail, starting from the National Museum of Singapore and ends at Marina Barrage. I referred to the Jubilee Walk reference map to guide me through.

First stop - National Museum of Singapore. It will bring you through 24 stops, including Fort Canning, various buildings around its vicinity, Singapore River, Merlion Park, Helix Bridge, Gardens by the Bay, and more.

Old Hill Street Police Station, one of the landmarks you will discover through Jubilee Walk. This is definitely my favourite shot out of the whole Jubilee Walk route. Just love how the windows are so colourful and brings so much energy to its surrounding.

Walking by the Singapore River and seeing the magnificent The Fullerton Hotel Singapore brings me back to my childhood memory where my parents will take me on an evening stroll along the Singapore River and enjoy the $1 ice cream from the bicycle uncle.

If not for Instagram, I would have never thought of taking the back view of the Merlion, overlooking Marina Bay. Following photographers and travel enthusiasts inspires me to see things from a different perspective.

I definitely enjoyed the walk, despite the weather. And honestly, it is a perfect time to explore these places now in this lull period due to Covid-19. Like me, you can take all the time in the world to snap countless photos, and you won’t have to deal with any crowd anywhere!

The trip should last you 2-3 hours, depending on your speed and your pit stops. But of course, if you are like me, who is not a photography enthusiast (I had to take a couple of shots to get a satisfactory one), then you will spend a longer time.

Tips:

• Get your camera ready

(if you’re using your mobile phone to take photos, make sure you bring along a portable charger)

• Wear comfortable shoes

The weather can get scorching hot, so remember to:

• Hydrate yourself as much

• Put on sunblock/cover-up

So, is anyone excited yet to explore the Jubilee Walk for your next morning adventure? ?
