Getting Around in JB

  1. Having your own transport is the best and most convenient way to get around in JB as the distance from one place to another might be a bit far. You can also opt for renting a car.
  2. Other options would be to take Uber or Grabcar and maybe perhaps taxi though the first two are a more popular pick these days due to its easy accessibility and cheaper price.

Must-Visit Attractions

1. Legoland

A fun-filled and awesome adventure awaits you here at Legoland, Malaysia's first international theme park. A great place for family outings where there's plenty for both the adults and the children to enjoy. Legoland has two main parks to conquer - the dry Theme Park and the Water Park so be sure to set aside a full day just for this!

You can now relive your dream of becoming a ninja at their much-loved Lego Ninjago or go on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride aboard their Dragons' Apprentice (or do both!). A fan of Star Wars? Then their newly-added attractions of a Star Wars mini-movie and incredible Lego installations of the franchise memorable scenes will most definitely put a joyful grin to your face.

Have a splash-tastic time sliding down the amazing slides and riding the waves at their Water Park. Don't forget to bring an extra set of clothes and a proper swimming gear.

2. Danga Bay

A favourite hangout for both locals and tourists alike, Danga Bay is a scenic and breathtaking waterfront located just outside of JB city centre?

Stretching some 25km along the Straits of Johor, Danga Bay offers a lot of attractive activities for all ages, especially so as a romantic spot thanks to its beautiful night view overlooking the sea and the countless fine dining restaurants.

There is also a mini outdoor theme park known as the Danga World Mini Theme Park. A more budget-friendly alternative to the pricier Legoland, the rides at its fun fair are a bit more tame and child-friendly. The rides include many crowd favourites such as the merry-go-round, spinning teacup, and bumper cars?

#HHWT Tip: Though the place is open from morning, we suggest you come at night to enjoy the dazzling light show against the dark sky coupled with the soothing night sea breeze and lively atmosphere.

3. Istana Bukit Serene (Laman Mahkota)

While you're at Danga Bay, make your way to Istana Bukit Serene - the royal palace and official residence of the Sultan of Johor! It's one of the famous landmarks here in JB and has a long history since its construction in 1939.

Though the palace is not open to the public, you can still admire its beauty as you stroll through the beautiful and well-kept public park located in front of the palace. A famous photo spot, you can't leave JB without taking a picture with the spectacular crown arch in front of the palace!

4. Sanrio Hello Kitty Town

Visit the home of a much-loved cartoon character, Hello Kitty, here at Sanrio Hello Kitty Town! Just a mere 20 minutes drive from central JB, this indoor theme park is sure to bring much fun and joy for both you and your little ones?

5. JB Old Town

Explore what JB has to offer by taking a stroll around the old part of the city which is along the famous Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and the neighbouring Jalan Dhoby. This area is known among the locals as JB Old Town because of its vintage historic buildings from the old days!

Evident in town is the influence of Chinese and Indian heritage from the architecture as well as the decors around this old part of the district. The area is also known for its colorful and unique murals akin to those in Penang. A must-do while in JB is to take a picture with one of the murals! It'll be a lovely addition to your Instagram grid?

1. Paintball (AOV Paintball)

2. Go-karting (Permas Go-kart Club)

Another exciting activity you can do while in JB is the exhilarating go-karting! Satisfy your need for speed as you race across one of the longest go kart tracks in Malaysia at Permas Go-kart Club, also known as the Plentong International Karting Circuit.

Tucked away inside the plantations of Plentong, Permas Go-kart provides go-kart rentals suitable for all ages, be it from the tame 3.5 horsepower kart for kids to the 13 horsepower ones for adults. Feel the rush of adrenaline running through your blood as you speed through their track while maneuvering the many sharp challenging turns.

2. Paradigm Mall

Parkson, H&M, FOS, Padini, Uniqlo, Giordano, Cotton On, Levi's, the list goes on and on. With such an astounding amount and selection of retailers, be prepared to shop till you drop!

Besides shopping, there are also a few activities you can do here with your fellow friends and family such as going to the cinema to watch the latest blockbuster. If you're up for it, test your skating skills at their indoor ice skating rink!

1. Salahuddin Bakery (Muslim-owned)
