With an abundance of nature retreats and glamping spots in Malaysia, getting a change of scenery is easy for city dwellers. And the added bonus of amazingly chilly places in Malaysia also means a cool mountain retreat is never far away.

Situated in Pahang, Colmar Tropicale is where you can go to experience a weekend of cool weather. Inspired by 16th century Colmar town in France, you might be wondering what to do at Colmar Tropicale? Well, there are a number of attractions you can visit including Equestrian, Adventure Park, Rabbit Park, and Botanical Garden - but Colmar Tropicale has an attraction that'll remind you of Japan.

From Colmar Tropicale, take a complimentary shuttle service that'll lead you to all the attractions within this hillside retreat including the famous Japanese Village! Designed by Japanese architect Kaio Ariizumi, this scenic garden is dotted with calming streams, a traditional Japanese tea house, Bonsai-style trees, and more.

It's important to note that you need to climb 88 steps to reach the Japanese Village. There's also a sign that cautions visitors with breathing difficulties not to climb the steps and unfortunately, there is no alternative entrance at the time of writing. For those who can, you know a lovely scenery awaits at the top!

To complete your experience at the Japanese Village, you can rent a kimono at the rental house for RM20. We recommend taking some snapshots outdoors to capture the village's ambience. Since it's a popular attraction, it might take a while to capture crowd-free moments, but your patience will pay off!

If you have time, you can also squeeze in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony or enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the Tatami Spa! Just remember to check the final departure time for your complimentary shuttle service.

Since it's going to take a while before we can travel to Japan again, you can head over to the Japanese Village at Colmar Tropicale to heal your travel blues. For more chilly destinations in Malaysia, you're going to love this article!
