Midday: Todaiji Temple (Daibutsu)

kintetsu railway
  • Stroll through to Todaiji, home to the awe-inspiring Great Buddha Hall (Daibutsu-den) — one of the largest wooden structures in the world and absolutely humbling. Plan for 1–2 hours here to soak in the art, architecture, and quiet.
  • #HHWTtips:
    • Modest dress is appreciated in temple precincts; women may prefer a light shawl for entering indoor halls.
    • This location focuses on cultural experiences, so food won't be an issue for your visit.
    • For the best experience, try to visit outside of prayer times. This way, you can fully enjoy the site at a more relaxed pace!
