Janda Baik is a popular nature retreat for Malaysians and there are a few romantic things to do with your partner here. The best way to get to Janda Baik from KL is by car. It’s the quickest and cheapest way, taking less than 40 minutes unless you’re fond of keeping to a speed limit.

Day 1

1. Have breakfast surrounded by a reserved forest

There's a beautiful restaurant called Lemuni Cafe that serves the highest quality Malay cuisine, kampung style located at Istana Lemuni. After the hour-drive journey from KL, do check this place out to have your breakfast as it is surrounded by a lush reserved forest and it'll be a great change from your normal city view.  You can find any traditional local dish here like nasi lemak packed with banana leafs, crispy fried chicken and delicious roti canai with a side of flavourful curry, traditional dessert and of course, the most drink of the day, coffee! It is a Malaysian thing to eat your nasi lemak with a cup of sweet teh tarik to complete the meal. They say we eat with our eyes and with the lush view of the reserved forest, the delicious food prepared by the chefs will taste 10 times better ?

2. Go on a hike & enjoy a dip at Lata Tampit Waterfall

For avid hikers and those who want to have a complete nature retreat, visit the 7-tier waterfall to have a feel of being in Fiji. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the foot of the level 4 twin falls or level 5 fall where you could enjoy a refreshing splash or dip. If you wish to reach to the level 7 of this fall, then it’ll take another 15 minutes. Make sure you've got the right footwear on with an extra set of clothes to change into!

3. Enjoy traditional lemang among locals

After an adventurous trip to the waterfall, head over to the local’s favourite, Lemang To’ki! Lemang can be enjoyed at any time of the year and if you cant’t wait for Raya, this is the place you should go. Get your fill of some mouthwatering lemang along with rendang, ayam bakar, patin tempoyak and smoked duck curry.

Day 2

1. Indulge in locally-grown coffee

Get your fix of delicious coffee to start the day at Pinto Coffee+! Coffee lovers will appreciate this place as they locally grow their own coffee and roast them fresh everyday for customers. The cafe itself is circled by the forest,  giving you a sweeping view of greenery. Here, you can enjoy a taste of the flavourful  Banjaran blend or Indonesian beans. You can also pair up your cups of coffee with the tasty dessert treats that they have to offer.

Drive up to Fig Malaysia Farma Janda Baik where you can enjoy the view of greenery and see how figs are locally grown here.
