Whenever I'm in Tokyo for a holiday, I would shop at Don Quijote. Kit Kats, instant noodles, cosmetics and gadgets - I would never run out of things to buy for myself and my loved ones.

When I went to Chiba last year, I had the chance to shop at the biggest Daiso store in Japan called Daiso Giga Funabashi. Just a 1-minute walk from Keisei Funabashi station, it was super convenient to get there. I'm already used to shopping at Daiso in Kuala Lumpur, but I was excited to see how it'll be different from Tokyo.
For the unfamiliar, Daiso is one of the most popular ¥100 shops in Japan. It's as famous as Lawson, Can Do, and Seria. And true to its name, most of the items cost ¥100 (RM3.80) but there are a few things that cost more and it's usually clearly stated on the price display.

What's amazing about Daiso Giga Funabashi is that it has 6 floors! Don't worry, the store has escalators and unlike the usual Don Quijote stores, you don't need to climb up and down the stairs.
Each floor is packed with different things like food, cosmetics, electronics, bath supplies, travel essentials, soft toys and more! What I love about shopping at Daiso Giga is the wide aisles, which is different from most Don Quijote stores where you need to squeeze in between narrow aisles and boxes - a lot worse when it's super crowded.
Since there are many things to see and shop in Daiso Giga, I'll just share two of favourite sections and items! If you love stationary as much as I do, head over to the 2nd floor for stickers, notebooks, decorative pens and more.

I remember browsing this post-it section for a good 15 minutes because the designs are so adorable! I wanted to get this sleeping bear sticky note for work, but how could anyone have the heart to scribble on something so cute?

My second favourite is the kitchen tools and pottery area on the 3rd floor. I don't cook, but I sure love looking at kitchenware and pretending like I'm shopping for my imaginary home. I mean, look at those colourful cupcake moulds! I might start baking again if someone were to give that to me.

I'm also very fascinated by how Japanese can come up with the craziest kitchen tools such as this lemon spray thingy. Who needs Ambi Pur when you can spray fresh lemon scent around your home? Kiddinggg, this one is for salads but still, their creativity is beyond me.

So did I buy anything? Honestly, I left Daiso Giga without getting anything because I felt I could get the same products back home (I was wrong because I can't find that lemon spray thingy in KL). But I truly love the shopping ease and space that I would never get from a crowded Don Quijote.
Daiso Giga is also pretty relaxed about tourists taking pictures of the items or anywhere around the store (they even have posters in English assuring that it's okay haha)
If you want to check out this place, Daiso Giga Funabashi opens every day from 10AM till 9PM. I would recommend shopping after 7PM when there's fewer crowd. Spending an hour here is good enough. Till then, happy shopping!
