Imagine being 67 years old and embarking on a life-changing adventure. Golbahar, a brave and spirited woman, did just that when she went on her first Hajj pilgrimage at the age of 67, seven years ago. Despite feeling scared and doubtful, she set out on a remarkable journey that would leave a lasting impact on her life.
Golbahar had previously travelled alone for Umrah, but going to Hajj by herself was a whole new experience. When she laid eyes on the magnificent Kaaba, she made a heartfelt promise to return there once more. She recalls, "I was afraid and had a lot of self-doubt. But when I saw the Kaaba, I knew I had to go back there."

During her first attempt, Golbahar used wheelchair services for assistance. It gave her some comfort, but for her second journey, she decided to be independent. With determination and faith, she navigated through the bustling streets on her own, guided by her unwavering belief.
Throughout the pilgrimage, Golbahar faced moments of tiredness, especially during late-night prayers. Homesickness and falling ill made the journey even more challenging. However, she found solace in the company of the five women she shared a room with. They shared jokes, laughter, and made her feel like she belonged. Golbahar fondly recalls, "We made jokes, and they made me feel like part of their family. Their warmth helped me forget my worries."

One of the most memorable moments for Golbahar was when she was accidentally left behind by the bus. Illiterate and unsure how to contact her group, she felt lost. But by the will of God, she met others who were also left behind, and together they managed to get in touch with their companions. She says, "By God's will, we found each other and called our group. It was a moment of divine intervention."
Motivated by her strong faith and the desire to fulfill an important pillar of Islam, Golbahar embarked on this journey, fulfilling a lifelong dream. The 28 days of Hajj, with visits to Shisha, Arafah, Mina, and Muzalifa, were beyond what she had imagined. She gratefully expresses, "There were so many people. Mecca and Medina were more beautiful than I ever imagined."
However, amidst the joy, Golbahar faced a challenge with the overcrowded toilets at Arafat. Waiting in line became tiresome, especially for older individuals like her. With a touch of humor, she says, "The toilets in Arafat were a difficulty. There were so many people, and it seemed like all the old people had to use the toilets at the same time. The waiting almost killed me."
Reflecting on her experience, Golbahar advises others to go on this journey when they are young. Despite the difficulties she faced, she believes it would have been easier if she had done it earlier. After Hajj, she felt a strong desire to perform all tasks in a proper way and to become a better person.

Initially, Golbahar was scared to embark on this journey alone. However, as she embraced the journey and connected with fellow pilgrims who were also on their own, she realized that challenges are easier when faced together. The friendships she formed became a source of strength and support throughout the pilgrimage.
When asked about her favorite moments, Golbahar's eyes lit up as she exclaimed, "Mecca was breathtaking! I couldn't believe my eyes."
In conclusion, Golbahar expresses deep gratitude to everyone who supported her during this incredible journey. She extends her heartfelt thanks to her companions, saying, "I am forever grateful for the friendship we shared. May Allah bless you all."
Golbahar's journey to Hajj is a testament to the power of faith, determination, and the ability to conquer fears. Her inspiring adventure serves as a reminder that age is not a barrier when it comes to pursuing dreams and finding strength within oneself.
