Sunny Singapore’s widely considered a food heaven, since our local fare has multiracial (aka flavourful!) influences. But we’re not just limited to your typical plate of chicken rice! From Korean to Mexican to home-styled Malaysian fare all on one island, you’re in for quite a food adventure?
Singapore may be small but we’re exploding with international eateries! Here’s our pick of the 6 best halal eateries in Singapore for scrumptious international cuisine?
1. Penang Culture (Asian)
Of course, we have to give Asian food a shout out! When we think of delicious, authentic Asian fare, Penang Culture definitely comes to mind. Singapore’s first Penang-themed halal restaurant promises to deliver iconic street food that’ll leave you wanting more ?
Alright, the first dish you HAVE to order is their signature Penang Assam Laksa! Springy noodles cooked in a light, tamarind infused broth, every bite is packed with flavour.
Scoop up the noodles and broth in your spoon and eat it in one bite for a flavour roller coaster!
An old favourite, the Penang Fried Kway Teow should be next on your list. The noodles have a spicy kick to it, topped with fresh and perfectly cooked prawns. Definitely a must try for tourists ?
If you’re a salted egg fanatic, opt for the Premium Crab Meat & Salted Eggs Fried Kyaw Teow instead. The crab meat adds the right amount of sweetness to the overall dish and balances out the saltiness of the salted egg, making it a wonderful dish!
As for sides, our favourites are the Lemon Mantis Prawn and Penang Lor Bak. The prawn dish is delightfully crispy, citrusy and marinated with sweet soy sauce. This is the first time we’re trying it and we’ll definitely be back for more!
Lor bak is normally made of pork, so finding a yummy halal version was a treat for us! It’s sweet and has a chewy texture, a nice side dish to accompany the rest of the dishes.
Oh, don’t forget to finish off your meal with a refreshing bowl of Penang Chendol!

If you’re feeling a little adventurous, the Heart Attack fried rice is a meal to remember! You can have your fried rice served with New York strips and a half or full spring chicken. It’s said to be “arteries cloggingly good” but we suppose your palate (and heart) will be the judge of that?

3. 4 Fingers (Korean)
This Korean fast food joint burst onto the food scene in 2009, serving up their generously seasoned, signature crispy chicken. Choose from soy garlic, hot or mixed and complete your meal with a side of seaweed fries!
We’d personally recommend going down the spicy route for the full experience ?

If you’re looking for a more filling meal, there are also rice boxes, burgers and salads!
But let us warn you, 4 Fingers truly lives up to its’ name! You’ll end up using all 10 fingers while eating their succulent pieces of crispy chicken ?

What’s really interesting about Afterwit is that they infuse local flavours into classic Mexican cuisine. Some flavours include nasi lemak (chicken, coconut rice, sambal), beef briyani burritos and even dendeng tacos! Though a little on the pricey side, the rich and unique flavours totally make up for it?
