75200 Malacca, Malaysia
This is a pedestrian street filled with shops and street vendors on the right and left. There is a lot to see and choose to eat or drink, or buy souvenirs. Towards the evening it gets very crowded. An exciting and absolutely enriching place filled with a mosaic of different cultures.
A good place to get the feel of old Malacca, with plenty of local food choices and other shops selling curios and momentoes. The good thing is that almost all shops are run by locals, with foreign workers as helpers. This place gives a much better vibe than Chinatown in KL which is quite fake with most of the stalls run by foreigners.
Have a few times of visit to malacca, the Jonker Walk Heritage Park is one of the best and value place to be visited, after walking for minutes, enjoyed eating at the nearby Idle Corner (home flavour) with the windy weather accompany. There are also two recommendations walking distance places to be visited which are Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade Mall that fullfil with branding outlets, branded food and drinks as well as convenience shops or medical building/facilities.
A beautiful n crowded place filled with heritage buildings and food stalls during the evening. It's a lovely walk during the evening to enjoy local n multiple cuisine across the stretch. Evenings are beautifully decorated with lighting. Lots of juice shops around the corner
Jonker Street, also known as Jalan Hang Jebat, is one of Melaka’s most famous tourist spots. Historically, it was a vibrant settlement for the wealthy Peranakan Chinese during the Dutch colonial era. That's why even today, you’ll see that the area is still heavily dominated by Chinese culture from the architecture, temples, to the types of businesses around. Expect a packed crowd, especially on weekends. Parking is a real challenge and if you do find one, be prepared to pay a Yahudi price. So if you’re planning to visit, better come early or use e-hailing. Finding halal food here is tricky.Muslim visitors, please be cautious. Don’t just eat at any random shop along the street. Some eateries may look tempting plus with all viral one (You know the place?.Even local people also advise not to eat there).Always double-check or stick to clearly certified halal spots. Overall, Jonker Street is rich in history and culture.
