Terminal Melaka Sentral, No. 73B, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, 75300 Peringgit, Malacca, Malaysia
Melaka Sentral is the major transport hub for inter-city bus travel. I used this station for getting to and from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka. The station is well organised and well sign posted. The inter-city and local buses are in different parts of the building, but again these are marked. The ticketing system is well organised into a centralised system where the counter staff will give you a choice of bus to catch to your destination along with their departure times and you simply tell them which one you want. Easy! Be careful when you arrive though. There are lots of taxi drivers trying to hustle a fare and telling tourists that there are no buses to Dutch Square from the station, which is not true. The Panorama bus # goes from the station to Dutch square and departs every 30 minutes. There’s also lots of shops like you would find in any shopping mall, but these are aimed more at locals than foreigners. There are several eateries here where I also had a quick bite at one of the restaurants after arriving here from Kuala Lumpur and needing some lunch.
Quite a busy place to take local and regional buses out of Melaka. Seems a little rundown, but everything works fine. There is a check-in system to take your bus: after getting your ticket printed, pass thru the gantry towards the timing of your bus departure. Look up on screens in case of delays. Plenty of eateries and shops to browse before getting on your bus.
Nice bus terminal for public transport inter district
