Awesome spot for a walk with ice cream or coffee. Beautiful views and the cliff makes a great spot for taking photos. Can use this area as the start for the Takapuna to Milford walk depending on the tides. Also has public toilets, rubbish bins and a world class all ages all abilities playground. Check water quality if going for a swim would be the only caution.

Dropped into Takapuna Beach to take in the ocean breeze & Latin Festival. It's a great location for something like this and free for everyone. The surf club is located next door, and if the kids need more entertainment the playground is massive and at the beach. Those looking to enjoy the view over food and drink, there is plenty to choose from on The Strand.

Great for taking a stroll, relaxing, and family-friendly. The beach has a great playground, is even wheelchair accessible, and features lots of trees for shade. The toilets and changing rooms are clean, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. ??

Very sparsely populated midday on a weekday - shell beach but nbd. Water very temperate and little to no waves when we went

There is a long stretch of beachfront ideal for a sunset /sunrise walk with your kids/dogs. Rangitoto is directly opposite with views of the lighthouse too. The kids playground is also huge and features a 'hamster wheel' as well as climbing nets.
