Crowded but a good place to buy stuff especially whole sale. They have a variety of products from shoes to toys to electronics. There is a lot of walking involved so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and also bargain!!

I was able to buy a ton of goods at cheap prices at Pettah Market yesterday. The market spans across around 4KM down many different roads with each containing around 1000 small shops with a variety of products. They literally have everything sold across Sri Lanka at this market. It’s always crowded at the Pettah Market so I recommend parking your vehicle elsewhere and exploring the market on foot. Be vary of shop owners quoting higher prices if you are a tourist so it’s best if you do a background check before buying anything. Overall it’s a unique experience for anyone traveling around Sri Lanka.

Very good local experience to get almost everything but it’s very hot and crowded, and probably some bargaining. I wouldn’t recommend for elderly and young kids as it does get hard to walk properly amongst the crowds.
