60 St 440, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Khraft is the BEST store in the city. You can get everything from gifts, crafts, games, teaching supplies, party supplies and more! The staff is attentive and kind and there is always new stuff to look at and explore. For the Americans in Cambodia this store feels like the craft section of Target. It is magical!!
Khraft is one of the largest art stores in Phnom Penh. It's mostly geared towards families with younger kids; however, some of the items can still be used by professionals. The staff was super friendly and competent. Overall, it was one of the cleanest art supply markets we've ever patronized.
I am so happy I found this place. I am just waiting for payday so I can come here and spend money. They have canvas, they have paint, they have all the things I need to feel like I'm back at home. The staff is so friendly and the setup is so cute
Great store! I asked for fabric dye, which is harder to find in KH, and he walked me straight to it. ? this chinese stuff is about 3x the strength of what I get in México and USA. in case you were wondering: turn clothes inside out then get them wet in hot water, set aside. it is important to mix dye, salt, and soap with a bit of boiling water before adding to whatever you are dyeing the clothes in. add more hot water to container then add clothes. i let soak, stirring every once in awhile, for about 30 minutes. then I drain most of the liquid out, put the unrinsed clothes in washer. add a small amount of soap, wash normally and air dry. *do not wash with other garments first few times* also, cotton and silk are best, viscose it depends, other polyester-y and synthetic blend fabrics don't ever really dye evenly or get saturated.
If you're in Phnom Penh and need art or craft supplies, Khraft is probably the best place to go. They have a great selection for everyone from beginners to experienced artists and they support the local creative community. We also had a super fun candle making class there, which took around 1.5 hours.
